**Apologies if we are not able to respond to your message of interest. We are often overwhelmed and try to make arrangements with the first person who shows legitimate interest to remain fair and unbiased. We are very sorry that we cannot have each and every one of you to stay! Thank you so much and happy travels.** We have a siberian husky and a short-hair rabbit (that live in separate parts of the house). Also, many plants! Our siberian husky Legolas (aka "Legs") is 6 years old, rescued at 5 months old. He is well trained and will listen to a firm voice and is very friendly. He will want to sleep on your bed and nap next to you! He roams the apartment but is not given access to the kitchen. There is a doggy gate for the kitchen entrance, otherwise we just close doors if he is unwanted in a certain room (feel free to kick him out of your room/the guest room, otherwise he will try to sleep on the bed with you!). He is fed and walked in the morning and evening. Please don't leave food around unattended, as he is VERY food motivated and will eat it! The rabbit, Pepino, lives in a pen enclosure in our bedroom. She is fed vegetables such as lettuce and carrots in the morning, pellets at night, and hay throughout the day. She is 8 years old and mostly wants to sleep, so we typically do not have sitters let her out and about since she will chew on things without full supervision. She is a somewhat wild personality, she was rescued at about 1 year old from an abusive household. We live in Washington Heights, a neighborhood in upper Manhattan. We are a few blocks from two different subway trains that will take you downtown to popular NYC spots. It is about 25 minutes via subway to the Empire State Building, for example. You're welcome to use WiFi and the television, which is outfitted with Roku. Netflix is installed on the tv, in the living room. In the summer we have AC units in the primary bedroom, guest bedroom, and living room. In the winter our apartment is very warm with the heat rising and don't often need to turn the radiators on, but you can do so if necessary. The laundry room downstairs can be used but the building charges a fee. You can get a laundry card down there for $5 and it is about $2-$2.50 USD for each washer or dryer. Just downstairs is the bustling city of New York, accessible via subway stations (A train to the north and 1 train to the south). Just outside the window is a great view of the Hudson River.

Our home is oddly spacious for such a populated city. We have a queen bed in both the primary and the guest bedrooms. We are located in a 6-story building, on the 5th floor (with an elevator), on a quieter street right next to the Hudson River. Please note that there will be sounds of traffic from the apartment as we are above a major roadway. If you need silence in order to sleep, this is not for you! There are fantastic views of the river from every room in the apartment. We are a few blocks over from a much busier street (Broadway) with lots of places to eat and things to do, and a few blocks from two different subway stations. Our neighborhood park, where the dogs go, is less than a block away. There is plenty to do in upper Manhattan as well, such as visiting the Little Red Lighthouse, The Met Cloisters, etc.!

C'était un réel plaisir que de s'occuper de notre ami Legolas. C'est un chien très attachant et drôle dans son comportement. Quant à Pepino, nous avons eu la chance de la caresser et d'apprécier sa compagnie. Nous n'avons pas eu le plaisir de rencontrer Risa et Daniel, il n'empêche que nous avons été bien accueilli par la petsitter. Nous recommandons ce bel appartement et sa localisation à deux pas du métro et surtout d'un parc où il y a toujours de l'animation. Je recommande chaudement. Merci encore à vous deux pour votre confiance

Risa did a great job of caring for our pets and home while we were away! She sent updates on our dogs regularly, and spent plenty of time at home with our lap-loving dogs. She handled a couple of unforeseen situations– a frozen water line and a sheep/cow escape!– beautifully, getting everyone safely back into their quarters. Risa went the extra mile, caring for the livestock, hauling hay bales out of the barn, and making sure their food was accessible in the snow, when their regular food ran out. Risa was also a great house guest, and our house was clean and well cared for on our return. I highly recommend Risa for house sitting!

I spent bit more than a week at Larisa's place and it was amazing for me! I had to take care about a supercute and fluffy rabbit end the rest of the day was mine. They are living in a really nice apartment in a well developed area. I totally recommend them and I hope they are not mad at me for drinking all the coffee :)
