Description générale

  • Résidence secondaire
More than a house, Yanapay is a lush riverside private conservation area.
Composed of 60 Ha, 56 Ha of pure forest and 4 Ha of open habitat, Yanapay Forest is located on the banks of the Rio Mayo, 45 minutes by boat from the city of Moyobamaba - The Upper Mayo Valley is located on the eastern slope of the Andes in Peru, at ~800 m elevation, and temperatures averages 25ºC - It is a biodiversity protection sanctuary, a jewel in the middle of a landscape threatened by the expansion of agricultural activities. The landscape is sumptuous, composed of a mosaic of secondary and primary forest. A forest regeneration study project is taking place there since 2014, having made it possible in particular to determine the rate of biomass accumulation and the return of biodiversity. There are no less than 140 species of woody plants, and communities of monkeys that permanently reside there. The river is 30 seconds from the house, a luxury for bathing and swimming every day. It is an ideal refuge, a place of meditation. No road arrives, so you don't hear the sound of engines, except from time to time small boats of farmers going to their land. To get there, you either have to walk 45 minutes from the nearest road or take a boat from Moyobamba, Peru. The sounds we hear are those of forest animals and insects. There's a solar panel that charges your laptop and phone, and the 4G network is (just) coming to the house, so someone can always connect to the internet. The house is large, equipped with everything you need to live comfortably (gas kitchen, bedrooms, tools, etc.), and completely protected with mosquitoes’ mesh.
