General description

  • Main home
Comfortable self contained sunny and bright studio apartment. Large sunny deck with access to the pool. There is full kitchen but I only have basic cooking equipment - enough to make simple breakfasts and dinners A good coffee machine, vegetable steamer, orange juice maker, sandwich toaster, a few pots and pans and plenty of crockery and cutlery. There’s a smart television, Blue tooth iPhone dock and speakers. I can make a computer and internet available. There is a good desk space for writing or working. The queen bed is comfortable with quality linen. The ensuite bathroom has a shower and there is a washing machine in the studio.

Needs and Animals

  • My pets
  • A cat
Charlie needs company while I am on holidays. Charlie likes sleeping and eating. He will let you know when he wants to be fed, go out, come in, go out again, be fed again. Mostly he’s likes to be left alone, except when he wants a cuddle. Charlie must be kept inside after dark and he will try to avoid this.

Warrimoo is a small village in the beautiful Blue Mountains. The train station is a 10 minute walk - 1 hour to Sydney and 45 minutes to The Three Sisters and Katoomba. My place is behind the main house in a seperate building and offers a private and peaceful place to rest. If you want to go away for a night or two you can arrange with the main house to feed Charlie.

The Blue Mountains is a rugged region west of Sydney in Australia’s New South Wales. Known for dramatic scenery, it encompasses steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls and villages dotted with, galleries and gardens. Katoomba, a major town in the area, borders Blue Mountains National Park and its bushwalking trails. Echo Point affords views of the storied Three Sisters sandstone rock formation.

Natural attractions in the area range from tiered Wentworth Falls to the illuminated Jenolan Caves, filled with stalactites, stalagmites and underground rivers. The Blue Mountains, named for the eucalyptus haze over them, also encompass Wollemi National Park, known for its wild rivers and rare Wollemi pine. The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mt.Tomah features an example of this tree along with several exotic species.

The mountains are a year-round destination, but most popular as a cool refuge in the summer (Dec–Jan) as well as in autumn (Apr–May). In the winter (Jun–Aug), days are cool and night temperatures hover around freezing.

It’s about 90 minute train ride to Sydney and 45 minutes to Katoomba. The service is regular enough for day trips. I can make my car available so you can explore the local area and further west.
