El Castillo is a peaceful, quiet, friendly village where everyone knows everyone...just not much goes unnoticed. Yet, the house is private and nestled among the trees and surrounded by gardens. Villagers go to bed early and up early so you may be awakened by the wildlife or the locals on motorbikes going to work. The are many ex-pats here living either full time running businesses or part-time w/ homes back in the states. Tourism is key here. Every Friday is market day in Fortuna, a half hour drive (or take the local shuttle in at 10am....they return at 12:30 or 5:30 for $6 each way. The village has it's local 'pulperia' that stocks everything you could need.

El Castillo, Costa Rica

From Monday 2016

To Saturday 2016

flexible dates

I would expect to meet whoever house sits to orient them to the home and area and friends nearby. There are also locals who do gardening for me as well as cleaning and laundry if needed (you would pay them for that). Duration of stay is flexible and the B&B would be shut down for business especially during low season months of May, June, September, October & into November. July & August are negotiable for staying here as I do plan to be in the states or traveling for a possible 6 month period.
