General description

  • Main home
Ever wanted to live in a chateau? Well here is your opportunity! We need an experienced person/couple to look after the chateau and our rescues for a little over two weeks.

Needs and Animals

  • My pets
  • 4 cats
  • Farm animals
We have 4 rescue cats and 9 rescue chickens who all have a lot of personality. The cats eat raw meat (which will be pre cut and frozen) so if you are vegan or have an aversion to raw meat like kidney and liver you should consider if you would be able to complete the feeding regime. We have a detailed document of everyones personality and feeding etc. Feeding generally takes 5 minutes each morning and night for the cats and same for the chickens.

The cats are all very friendly with each other and sleep together and be super cute.

The cats and the chickens can't be let out at the same time as the cats have not yet learnt that chickens are friends not food. The chickens need to be locked up each evening.

There are also 4 litter trays that need to be attended to.

Practical life

  • Isolated
  • More than 500 m² (5290 sq. ft.)
  • More than 1000 m² (1060 sq. ft.)
  • Internet
  • Television
  • Dishwasher
  • Washing machine
  • Deep freeze
  • Ground floor
  • No disabled access
We live at the top of a hill in a small village that has no ammenities such as boulangeries or pharmacies. The closest town with these are about 8 kms away and the nearest small shop is about 10 kms away.

We have some bigger towns nearby (15+ kms) which are nice for exploring such as Albi, Castres and you can even do a day trip to Carcassonne.

Comfort and Luxury

  • 3 floors
  • 15 rooms of which 5 bedrooms
  • Regional
  • Terrace / Balcony
  • Car parking available
  • Television / DVD library
  • Book library
The chateau is well equipped in the kitchen, your bedroom and bathrooms. It can be very cold in here as it is very big and the heating isn't efficient. We have a wood burner in the saloon and plenty of wood for you to use, but the rest of the chateau can be quite cold at sometimes between 10-14 degrees (no heating). We can't stress this enough, if you like warmth this is not the sit for you. We generally wear multiple layers inside, and sometimes it feels warmer outside than in.

Tourism and Leisure

  • Countryside
There are a lot of old and beautiful villages and towns in the area to visit.

From Thursday 2022

To Monday 2022

firm dates

We leave on the 6th of February but would like the sitters to arrive early so they can meet the animals and learn their routines. And we get back in the evening of the 20th so would need someone who can be there upon our return.
