Hello! This is a last minute and somewhat unusual request for a person or duo looking to spend some time in Berlin from now (15. December) through some time in January (specifics to be discussed).

I have an empty apartment -- like, completely empty: I just signed the lease before heading out of town for the holidays. I am insanely busy right now and would really like to avoid taking a lot of time to set this place up. So I thought I'd see if there are any handy -- and more importantly, design-happy -- Nomadors who'd like to do it for me in exchange for living in the place for a bit and getting to know Berlin.

You'd have to be someone who likes going to flea markets and scouring for secondhand finds; I don't think it makes sense really unless you're someone who would have FUN setting up a new home -- like you're into interior design and/or carpentry. I'd obviously be paying for everything you buy (low budget -- mostly secondhand!).

The place needs a bit of (pretty light) renovations -- a bit of spackling, but mostly removing the wallpaper and some painting. Pretty straightforward. Way more importantly, it needs to get furnished. It is empty but for a kitchen sink and a stove. For the first few days, you'd be roughing it. I could hook you up with a mattress and bedding ASAP, but you'd have to go pick that up. And then depending on how fast you got stuff into the place, the apartment could be up and running for your use in days.

I'd want to be in communications about the bigger purchases, so if you had a smartphone that would be great.

You'll probably be running around town a bit, seeing all different sides of the city, talking to people from all walks of life. I've furnished apartments all-secondhand in the past and have loved the experience: it exposes you to so many different types of people and parts of society.

If this sounds at all interesting, shoot me a note and we can talk further. Carpentry skills would help but aren't necessary. A design touch is a must though!

The place is in Kreuzberg by the way, between Anhalter Bahnhof and Hallesches Tor -- no "Kiez", but super super central, basically the very heart of Berlin. All the basics are within walking distance (Kaisers supermarket 5 minutes away), and then you're in between a bunch of other great Kreuzberg kiezes.
