Needs and Animals

  • My pets
  • Animals with specific needs
  • Many plants
  • Big garden
  • Vegetable patch
  • A dog
We have an 8 year old beagle that needs to be walked out at least once a day. She sleeps inside the master bedroom in her own bed. She loves to cuddle and to have someone to play with her in the garden. She drinks a lot of water, gets breakfast and dinner, and will bark if she hears any knocking noise during daytime. She will sleep all night long and very rarely she’ll try to wake you up so you can open the doors for her to go out for her needs.

It is overall a very quiet place, so much you can hear birds singing early in the morning or dogs randomly barking at the distance.
There is not reliable public transportation, however it is very easy and cheap to ride an Uber. Most of the time Ubers are around this area, so more likely it will take just few minutes for you to catch a ride.
There is a very nice restaurant/coffee shop 15 minutes walk distance from home. It is a pet friendly place (they love Maki, our beagle) with WiFi and vegetarian options in the menu.
Our house help Mercy, is a hardworking lady who loves cooking. She is Kenyan but she has experience working for expats and she can cook variety of international cuisine.

Comfort and Luxury

  • 6 rooms of which 2 bedrooms
  • Contemporary
  • Landscaped garden

Tourism and Leisure

  • Museum
In Nairobi you can visit the Sheldrick elephant and rhino orphanage, you might see wildlife on your way to there. You can also visit the Giraffe center where you would freely feed the animals, or if you’d like to share your breakfast with a giraffe, you can also check out the Giraffe manor.
If you love Out of Africa by Karen Blixen, you might be also interested in visiting the writer’s house museum.
You can also enjoy a day safari inside Nairobi national park or a nice and refreshing surrounded by wildlife walk inside Karura forest. If you are into hiking, you might want to visit Ngong hills.
Are you more interested in the night life of the city? Well you’ll love the variety of restaurants and bars found in Westlands.
You can also enjoy day trips to places like Hell’s gate national park or Naivasha.

Our dates are not yet firm, we are waiting before we buy our tickets. We would like the house-sitter to come at least one day earlier than the day we leave, so we can give instructions, get to know one other, introduce them to the neighborhood, and enjoy time together.
