The property also supports a large cat (aviary) cage: they never get out from my enclosed garden,
Nice quiet area, and a brilliant bus service to the town center.
Needs and Animals
- My pets
- 4 dogs
- 9 cats
The dogs get fed once a day with a wet mix.
The cats just need dried cat food in the morning, then wet at night.
Hoovering up the ground floor, the top floor gets done twice a week,
My son's cats will be there as well, and one of them gets given a pill once at day at meal times.
Other than that: no other medication or dietary requirements are required.
My pets are very easy to look after .. as is the house!
I'm not house-proud, with comfort being fore-and-front with the rough layout.
- Less than 50 m² (530 sq. ft.)
- Less than 20 m² (210 sq. ft.)
- Bus stop
Most locals bring them in, and they are a chatty lot.
The shops are a short walk further on from the pub, (in either direction), with the local CO-OPs having everything you'd ever need.
If you drive, then Stratton Woods is an area of outstanding beauty, and (if an avid walker), is well within walking distance of my house, but driving to the main house near Stanton is a better experience, with the [Old Wood] being the first walk you'll see.
It is very old, and you can get lost in it, (been there, done that!) But after half an hour of blindly stumbling around, I finally found a path again.
The Parade-Shops have an amazing bus service to Swindon Town Centre (but like every other UK town center), is smart, but rather empty, so to the full shopping experience won't be met: that said, the restaurants and pubs are brilliant havens of welcome and cheer. Think it's a Swindon thing!
The bus service also services Cirencester, which is half an hour away: the stone build town is quaint, but I wouldn't like to live there.
Comfort and Luxury
There are no egg-shells to break here.
Tourism and Leisure
Barbury Castle is an old hillfort where the locals like to while away a hot summer day. The views can take your breath away, but mind the sheep.
Wayland's Smithy is definitely worth exploring, it's just plain weird.
Oxford, Cirencester and Gloucester should also be your list for places to visit, as they are quite local to my home town.
Also: as an added bonus, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens is a brilliant place to explore, and they also welcome dogs (on lead.)
