General description

  • Main home
You’ll truly enjoy our newly renovated 1979 Colonial home with many large windows and wonderful amenities.

Top floor: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (your guest room has a brand-new ensuite bathroom and VERY comfortable queen-size bed with an organic Saatva mattress).

Main floor: master bedroom suite, living room w/ gas-log fireplace, lots of interesting books, and view of bird feeder #1; office with TV and large windows that look out on bird feeder #2 and our tree-lined, grassy property; formal dining room with door to balcony with bistro set and umbrella; large luxury kitchen w/ adjoining half-bath and laundry annex plus door to second balcony and large screened-in porch with 2 ceiling fans.

Finished walk-out basement with gas grill in back and two-car carport (you’ll be able to use one of the spaces).

Even though it feels like you’re way out in the country, you’re only 5 min. from groceries, gas, restaurants, shopping, and one of the best “urgent care” centers and regional hospitals in Tennessee. Columbia is a historic town that’s part of the “Nashville corridor” (just 55 min. away)—which includes Civil War sites, quaint antique stores, and beautiful green rolling hills with many creeks and rivers.

Our property is serene, safe, and quiet—and you’ll sleep very well at night. (We’re not in a high-crime area, but we have an ADT security system “just in case.”)

Needs and Animals

  • My pets
  • Animals with specific needs
  • A cat
We’d like you to brush Shawnee and give her her “brushing treats” first thing each morning, make sure she has kibble (day) and a bit of wet cat food (night), and clean her litter box every other day.

Before it gets hot in the morning, please let Shawnee spend a few minutes watching the birds from her wire kennel on the front porch, and check/fill the 2 bird feeders in front.

In case more than 6 days go by without rain, we’d also like you to water the flower beds in front.

Other than that, we hope you’ll enjoy some area sightseeing and R&R!

In Columbia, don’t miss seeing the historic (1816) Public Square in Columbia—which is encircled by several great restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques, a health food store and an excellent independent bookstore. One block north of Public Square you’ll find more boutiques plus a couple of excellent “brunch and lunch” cafés.

Not only is the world-famous Nashville music and restaurant scene only 55 min. away, but Middle Tennessee is filled with Civil War history (including Spring Hill [30 min.], Franklin [40 min.], and Shiloh [2-3/4 hours]) and spectacular scenic drives. Hikers will find plenty of trails to enjoy along the Natchez Trace (just 30 min. away).

If you’d like to see the gorgeous Smoky Mountains before or after your time house-sitting for us, they’re a 4-1/2 hour drive away.
