Sherri&Ivan

We are an animal-loving couple, Sherri (Chinese-Canadian) and Ivan (Italian). We have traveled across the world together and have now settled in Italy (we're on the calf of the boot of Italy).

Ivan is a builder and sculptor. Sherri is a web developer. We both have flexible work schedules and work from home, so we can keep your pets company all day. We both love cooking and the arts, and love discovering local ingredients and local artists.

We're both fluent in English. Ivan also speaks Italian, and Sherri speaks Mandarin. We are both non-smoking.

Much of our housesitting experience has been in New Zealand, where we traveled for one year in a self-sufficient caravan that we built ourselves. This unique experience has led us to be able to handle all kinds of emergencies and curveballs as they come.

We have experience taking care of daily medications, stimulation requirements of working dogs, and puppies and kittens at their most rambuncious age.

We also have plenty of experience taking care of farm animals in rural areas - ranging from chickens to alpacas to baby goats. We don't shy away from the wild!

Getting to bond with each animal and understanding their needs and preferences has been our source of joy. We often miss the pets we have gotten to know and their unique personalities.

You will find that we are quiet and clean. We like to ensure that pets are happy and healthy, and the property is well-maintained and cared for.

During our travels, we find that being more integrated into a locality and a community has allowed us to appreciate each experience more. Each place we have been while housesitting is forever entwined with our memories of our time with the pets and our gracious hosts. This is something we treasure a lot.

After settling in Italy for a few years, we are ready to see the world again.

We like to treat your animals, plants and home like ours - with love and respect. We are careful of your routines and considerations. We always try to ensure that you can be free from worry while you're away.
