Hello, I am Chris Francis from New Zealand where I have house and pet sat (mostly longer term). The very positive reviews (plse see examples below) I received through Kiwi House Sitters. I can give validated access to these.

I work remotely from home so your pets will have company and care and your house security. My work focus is on niche information systems for the higher education sector. I’m fit and active, practical and adaptable, a keen walker/hiker, reader, interested in the world and people, and importantly: a good housekeeper. Being well travelled I know the importance of knowing everything at home is fine, and the pleasure of returning home to happy pets and a well-kept clean house.

I’m returning to Europe after several years in New Zealand. For the next six months, I’ll be working remotely on a project which will be based in Europe. Where in Europe is a question and until this is answered house sitting is an attractive option.

In short: responsible, mature, domestic, up front, a keen gardener, and I have experience with, and care about, all types of animals.

"Chris is a fantastic sitter. I felt completely relaxed leaving him in charge of the house and animals. Nothing seemed to worry him. The house was left pristine (he even cleaned my windows!!!!!!!), the dog was groomed and had obviously had plenty of love and exercise. He is a delightful man and we enjoyed some great conversation over a couple of drinks. He would be welcome back any time. Thanks Chris"

“Chris looked after our house and cats for 7 weeks while we were overseas. Unfortunately one of our cats developed an eye infection one week before we left which proved intractable. She required medication for 3-4 weeks before it finally resolved. Chris rose to this unexpected challenge, kept in good contact with us about her ongoing treatment and progress, and we came home to happy healthy cats. He kept the property swept and tidy - a herculean task given our walnut tree shedding leaves daily. And a bonus - lovely clean windows on our return. Thanks Chris”.

"As first-time users of a house/pet sitting service we were nervous. Chris was our perfect match. From first meeting we had complete confidence our home and elderly pet would be well looked after. And so they proved to be. Our very elderly cat has a fiddlesome care regime and she was well-looked after in Chris’ care. Chris’ communication was great while we were away for a month. Our number one priority for a house-sitter was our own peace-of-mind and we’ve no hesitation in recommending Chris to provide this."

"Quite apart from returning to a well cared for house and our many plants Chris went above and beyond. While we were away for two months from Auckland a heavy storm hit. Chris noticed the gutters were over flowing and realised there was danger of internal water ingress. He went up onto the roof and cleared gutters and branches. When we thanked for this he looked a bit confused and his only comment was "its a good view from up there"! Chris is a safe pair of hands."
