I work in theatre and TV, and am passionate about storytelling. Although born and raised in Canada, I was based in Britain for 20 years, where work took me across the UK and Ireland. I love exploring new places, walking everywhere, public libraries, and quirky museums, brunches, fringe theatre, and historic sites. I moved back to Canada during the pandemic; and am now travelling and looking for a new base. I grew up with cats and did more cat-sitting than baby-sitting as a kid! With a career in TV production that's taken me all over the UK, I've been a lodger and flatmate for many years, and am a very clean, quiet, and respectful tenant. After rescuing and re-homing a stray kitten with a city farm, I was accepted as a cattery volunteer at the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London, UK, where I was trained in "consent and control" - to let the animals dictate what interaction they are comfortable with - and I'm very observant and respectful of them. I then started a freelance cat-sitting business and had several regular clients, who I still get updates from, even after moving away. I like to provide regular updates and photos to clients while they're away - as much or little as desired. And I'm always careful to consult in the event of unusual behaviour or medical issues. I can swaddle a cat and get pills and liquid meds down throats with minimal fuss; have administered ear and eye drops; dealt with fluids from both ends; got rid of live and dead rodent "gifts"; and looked after unweaned kittens to elderly cats. My clients have often said how chilled their felines are when they returned from holidays! As a lodger, I clean up after myself and like owners to find their home just as they left it.
