A love of animals, a feel for what makes a home, and a longing for new horizons.
Hello, I’m Judika, I’m 40 years old, and I sometimes find myself thinking of these words by John Lennon: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” I always dreamed of having a large family of my own, but my life has taken a different path. Today, I see this not as a source of sadness, but as an opportunity for something new. With no partner or children, I am independent, unattached, and free to shape my life anew. Perhaps turning 40 doesn’t have to mean you’ve already arrived where you always thought you would be. Perhaps there is something beautiful about setting off in a completely new direction.
Some people discover their love of animals later in life. Mine has been there from the very beginning. I was fortunate enough to grow up with my three sisters on an idyllic farm surrounded by nature, with sheep, horses, pigs, chickens, geese, cats, and, of course, a dog. It was a childhood straight out of Astrid Lindgren’s Bullerby stories. Growing up surrounded by nature and animals shaped me for life. Today, I live in an old brick house dating back to 1830—a little castle where several generations of our family share a home. Our little world also includes cats, rabbits, chickens, and fish—and, of course, Yuma, my female Dalmatian, who has been my faithful companion and the love of my life for almost six years. She is friendly, affectionate, and gets along with everyone, humans and animals alike. The two of us make a well-established team.
Three long walks a day are simply part of our everyday routine. After studying graphic design, I worked as a freelance photographer for around ten years. Capturing special moments with people and animals remains a passion of mine. I now work part-time as a fundraiser for Paulinenpflege Winnenden, a large social care organisation in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, that supports people with a wide range of disabilities. This includes deaf and deafblind people, autistic people, and children and young people who need additional support. It means a great deal to me to contribute through my work to something beyond myself. Since I work only around four hours a day and can work remotely, I have plenty of time and flexibility to give animals and a home the care and attention they deserve.
As the owner of two houses myself, I understand just how much responsibility and care go into looking after a home. I love keeping things tidy and well cared for, and I’m happy to tend to plants, look after the garden, or take care of whatever else needs doing. I want you to be able to go away with peace of mind and return to find your home just as you left it—perhaps with an extra touch of loving care 😉. Above all, I want your animals to feel not just cared for, but loved while you are away. To me, animals are never an afterthought: they are full members of the family, each with their own personality and needs.
I would love to enjoy a slower pace of life, discover new landscapes, perhaps make new connections, and, above all, offer animals comfort, affection, and security while their people are away. I know how difficult it can be to entrust your beloved animals to someone you don’t yet know. That is precisely why I believe in doing more than feeding them and meeting their basic needs: I want to be there for each animal as an individual. Playing, offering affection, giving them space to rest, and maintaining familiar routines. I’m not looking for a luxury holiday, but for the chance to share in everyday life somewhere new—close to nature, surrounded by animals, and with plenty of heart. If you are looking for someone who will care for your home and animals with love and a strong sense of responsibility, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Warm wishes from southern Germany,
Judika and Yuma
