ABOUT US
We're a couple in our forties working fully remotely as a translator/project manager and a computer scientist. Originally from Germany, we spent the past years in rural Spain where we were active in animal welfare – volunteering at the local shelter, and co-founding an association to help with donations and adoptions. The last of our own four-legged family members passed away in 2020. Not a day goes by where their absence doesn't hurt. We aren't ready to adopt again, yet we also miss spending time and sharing our lives with animals – the reason why we would love to look after other people's pets while travelling around Europe. We look forward to meeting new four-legged friends on our journeys!
We're environmentally conscious people who love the outdoors and would love to take your dog on long walks or hikes if that's something they'd enjoy. We don't smoke, are clean and tidy, and will respect the rules you establish for the time we are guests in and caretakers of your home.
We both work remotely and full-time from our laptops while travelling and do not see house and pet sitting as a vacation, but as a chance to finally be around animals again from time to time on our journeys. We travel by camper van and are thus able to take your fur baby to the vet quickly in case of an emergency. Even if, hopefully, this will not be necessary to implement, it's vital for us to set up a plan with you for your pets – what to do and where to go in case of emergencies etc.
OUR EXPERIENCE
We have 15+ years of experience taking care of rescue dogs, including ones who never lived in a home before they came to us, who were afraid of people and suffered from various medical conditions in old age. There is little that scares us when it comes to administering medication or cleaning up the accidents that happen when you share your life with animals. We've also fostered kittens and love cats. Oliver grew up with a family dog, Anne with a cat. She spent her adolescent years around horses and volunteered at a donkey sanctuary when WWOOFing, so taking care of larger animals isn't new to us, either.
We’re very happy to meet you in a video call and answer all your questions – we know from experience how important it is to be able to trust the people taking care of your pets!
