Hofheim

5 chicken small size ( (Molly, Solitaire, Apricot, Hanni and Nanni), no rooster. They have a modern chicken-coop (you don't need to enter a closed barn) in a secured garden area. Automated chicken door and feeder, so no need to get up early ;)
They get a small extra treat 3 days a week (piece of fruit or vegetable). In the evening they normally get a feeding from us directly, but this is not mandatory every evening. They are used to go to sleep alone and the coop- door closes automatically. They eat from your hand if you like it :) but otherwise they are untamed. They don't enjoy being cuddled. They are too small to hurt you.
Cleaning (get rid of poo) and change of drinking water is necessary at least every 2nd day. Let them roam free in the garden (not every day necessary) when you have time to watch them. 15 to 20 minutes so the garden can survive their attack and the chix are happy :)
Daily routine tasks are approx. 20-30 minutes. You will enjoy watching them and they will run to you whenever they see you on the terrace.

We actually start the travel on March 18th, but we like our house sitters to arrive one day before we leave so we can go through instructions, get to know the pets and spend some time together.

Charming traditional villa in Hofheim, with 3 bedrooms, study, kitchen, large sunny living room and dining room with a view. 2 bathrooms. Large natural garden with roof terrace and view. Quiet and friendly neighbourhood, surrounded by nature (walking, hiking, mountainbiking).
House is close to public transport (10-15 minutes walk to station) and 30 minutes ride to downtown Frankfurt am Main. Hofheim is known for its beautiful old center and offers a great variety of restaurants and shops, a cinema, a shopping mall and pubs.
5 cute chicken (hens, small size) as pets. No animals inside the house.

We have a water-rower, indoor bike, indoor trampolin and bikes for sport activities. We own an extensive library of books and DVDs in german and english language. The living room has a large TV, we provide netflix, amazon prime, spotify. A carpark is available in the driveway.

The area is very green, peaceful and relaxing. We keep the garden mostly natural with trees and plants and flowers needed by insects and birds. It doesn't need much looking after. Main task would be to clean the stairs from leaves for security reasons when it is necessary. The house is situated on a small hill. You can either use the stairs or walk up the driveway.
The area of the Taunus is full of small villages you can explore, also the cities Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Mainz are reached by public transport.
Beside a big terrace we have a lovely shadowy garden place with hammock, and a small place in the middle of the garden seating 4. And garden benches in front of the house to catch the last sunbeam of the day :)
We have renovated the house from the scratch, so it offers all modern comfort you can expect. Kitchen with dishwasher, oven and induction cooker, slow cooker, thermomix, fridge and a dining table. 1 modern bathroom on each floor. Bedrooms are upstairs. The guestroom has an extra TV and the bed is 1,40 cm x 2,00 cm. A larger extendable bed with 1,60cm x 2,00m is available in the living room. Study, kitchen, large living room with library and TV and the sunny dining room are located downstairs.
Internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime are available.
The library offers a variety of German and English literature.

Hofheim offers a cinema, shopping center, library, sport studio, a theater (Showspielhaus), a museum and a historical village center with city wall and streets.
Frankfurt as international city offers you the whole entertainment range from local to international artists on concerts, dance, theater - performances of all kind within 30 minutes from the station at Hofheim. Multiple popular museums cover any interest you have. Of course there is a lively nightlife in any variety as well ;) Frankfurt is the only german city with a real Skyline. You can stroll along the river Main which is covered with several bridges to reach the old city part of Sachsenhausen, situated on the left bank of the river. You have wonderful views of the skyline at sunset from the bridges. Sachsenhausen is famous for the Museumsufer, which has 7 interesting museums in a row. And you need to try the original "Äbbelwoi". This is a sour version of an applecider, only served in Frankfurt and nearest regions, but very popular with the locals. Give it a try and order it "sauer gespritzt". You can meet a lot of locals and will start to like the drink after your second glass ;)
