Jasper is a four-year-old Greco-French pirate cat, rescued in Greece after being hit by a car, then brought to France by a local rescue organisation. Like a true pirate, he hasn't let being blinded slow him down (although he refuses to wear an eye patch). He is very friendly, loves cuddles and human company, and will be your best friend in exchange for a treat and some scritches.

Jasper is FIV+ and has some skin and respiratory issues which require daily care (steaming to help his breathing, and a topical spray worked into his coat). He enjoys both of these, so this is never a problem, but he does need to be monitored for any changes, or if he's scratching himself. He is also blind, but doesn't need any eye treatments. (Plus he's on a diet, but an extra treat or two while I'm away is fine!)

Logement

A bright, airy, third-floor, one bed-room apartment in a quiet, secure building, less than 15 minutes walk from the beach. The south-west-facing balcony offers views to the L'Esterel national park in the distance, and has room for eating and living outside. The kitchen is fully-equipped with decent workspace, and there's air-con for the hotter days. There's also s secure bike room in the basement (I can offer use of my bike while you're here). Please note that while the building itself is very quiet, the neighbourhood can get a bit loud with traffic and mopeds – it's usually quiet after about 11pm until early morning, but if you're a light sleeper you may notice that!

Tourisme et loisirs

The apartment is in Cannes La Bocca, less than 15 minutes walk from the beach. From there, you can walk into Cannes centre in half an hour (or nip down there on the bike very easily!). There are plenty of local supermarkets and boulangeries, a small weekly market (plus the large one in Cannes almost daily), and a train station less than ten minutes walk away. Nice, Grasse, Antibes, and more are easily accessible on the train line, or head into Cannes and take the ferry over to the islands for a quiet day out. If you're driving, the Route de Napoleon is easy to access, along with the Gorges du Verdon, coastal drives to St Tropez and further afield – or nip over to Italy for the day! (Please note if you are driving that there's no apartment parking available. There is parking on the street (free), but can be a bit limited at busy times.)

Kim was the perfect host! She left us detailed instructions about everything we needed to know, plus an excellent map of where to find everything we needed, all within walking distance. She is also a very interesting person and super nice as well! Her apartment is very comfortable and modern with a fantastic view and it's close to transport. Jasper is a special cat and a delight to take care of, very well-behaved and as sweet as can be. This was one of our best petsits ever!
