A housesitter's primary responsibility would be to look after our dog and cat, Paco and Sparrow. Both are lively and affectionate, and they need lots of attention and play time. We would expect a sitter to take good care of our home and respect our privacy, but we do have a cleaner and wouldn't expect any heavy duty cleaning! Please note that Paco is NOT neutered, however Sparrow is.

In the past we have had a few sitters with a lot of experience with cats, but little experience with dogs. It's very important that a sitter understands that the needs of dogs and cats are very different. London is an amazing city, but Paco cannot be left on his own all day.

Please note that while our home has four bedrooms, we prefer a single house sitter, or a couple. We live in a detached Victorian home with its own garden. The house is set over 4 floors and has 4 bedrooms. A sitter would usually stay in the spare bedroom. There is a large sitting room and a playroom, as well as an eat-in kitchen and study. It's in a nice, leafy neighbourhood with plenty of parks and independent shops and restaurants nearby, and very good transport links to central London and beyond. We have all the usual on-demand TV channels as well as a study full of books. The garden is lovely and tranquil in the summer and attracts lots of birds. Our neighbourhood is pretty quiet although it's also central and close to lots of amenities. Camden Town is just two stops away on the Underground, Hampstead Heath is about 20 minutes' walk and there are lots of smaller parks nearby. There are also a terrific sourdough bread shop, a butcher and fish monger, and a really good whole foods store. In terms of restaurants there are several good places within walking distance of our house: Thai, French, Japanese and pizza, …

Tourisme et loisirs

It's hard to know where to begin, except to say that we are in central London! The city is filled with art galleries, theatre, live music and more. Our neighbourhood is just a few stops from the centre of town on the Underground so in about 30 minutes door to door you can find yourself at a West End theatre just in time for the latest musical. London also has the advantage of several large parks that are both central (Hyde and Regents parks) and further afield (Richmond). And of course the city is loaded with historical attractions such as the Tower of London and Hampton Court, along with the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

Ein wirklich toller Aufenthalt in London ist leider vorbei. Ich wurde von der sehr netten Familie mit einem leckeren Abendessen empfangen. Der Informationsaustausch mit Juliana funktionierte vor und während meines Aufenthalts über Nomador-/Whats-App hervorragend. In einem „Home-Book.pdf“ wurde alles Erforderliche ausführlich zu dem schönen und geräumigen Haus mit Garten, den tollen und sehr gut erzogenen Tieren (Paco – Langhaar-Collie, Sparrow – Abessinier-Katze) erklärt. Paco mag lange Spaziergänge, Sparrow ist sehr verspielt. In der sehr ruhigen Wohngegend waren Busse und die U-Bahn um die Ecke und London-City flott zugänglich. Kit hat mir auch sein E-Bike zur Verfügung gestellt, was für mich eine großartige Sache war. London – was soll ich sagen, ist mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten, Museen, Parks und Freizeitangeboten sehr gut ausgestattet und zu jeder Jahreszeit eine Reise wert. Vielen Dank Juliana, Kit, Paco, Sparrow und Kindern für euer Vertrauen.

Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par Juliana, Kit et leurs enfants autour d'un excellent repas ponctué d'échanges anglo-français. Nous avons fait connaissance de l'adorable Paco et du chat Sparrow à l'allure princière. Juliana avait tout organisé pour que nous soyons le plus à l'aise possible y compris avec un home-book très détaillé. Paco est un chien obéissant et très agréable à promener. Sparrow est très joueur et aime se faire câliner. La maison a beaucoup de charme et le quartier est paisible et proche de tout. La veille de notre départ, Juliana et Kit nous ont de nouveau offert un bon repas et avons pu faire plus connaissance. Nous souhaitons à tous les petsitters de rencontrer des hôtes aussi généreux et accueillants que Juliana et Kit. Merci de tout coeur.

And I thank them for the time spent with Paco and Sparrow, such wonderful and adorable pets! I had a wonderful time with them, they will be missed. It was a joy to take care of them.
