We have 3 cats, Merlin (16 year old domestic longhair), Jasnah (6 year old Maine Coon) and Malta (4 year old Maine Coon).
All 3 are easy going and enjoy getting pet and affection. They have a catio and like spending time out in it. If you’re in the house, the girls like to hang out around you and check in on whatever you’re doing.
Daily litter box scooping, filling their water, playing with the cats and giving them treats are other tasks required. Occasional brushing for the Maine Coons, if they're willing to cooperate, is appreciated.

Non-smoking individuals only; smoking outside not permitted.

Merlin is the special needs cat and has inflammatory bowel disease and hyperthyroidism. He acts pretty healthy/normal but he has had a few episodes of pancreatitis in the past few years so I'm really interested in finding petsitters who are familiar with cat signs of illness and could get him to the vet if needed.
He gets medications twice a day prior to his meals, in liquid treats or butter. The two MCs are healthy. All 3 eat twice a day, wet food, ideally about 12 hours apart (I usually feed between 8-9am and 20-21h). If …

If you're around during the day I'd ask for a midday meal for Merlin, but it's absolutely not required. Otherwise they can be left alone for those 12ish hours between meals.

Our house is rural, surrounded by farmland and trees, in the Asturian countryside. The house is a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with an extra large kitchen, large living room, office/workout space, laundry room and plenty of gardens and outdoor space. We have slowly been remodeling the house as we've been living here. The house is private, with no direct neighbors and just livestock rotating through the surrounding pastures. It’s peaceful here- a great place to relax. A car is a must for getting around here. It is located 8 minutes drive to a small town with all of the necessities, or 15 minutes to larger grocery stores, 25 minutes to Oviedo and 30 minutes to Gijon. There are plenty of beaches 30-60 minutes drive and mountains in a 1 hour drive. OVD airport is 30 minutes drive/30 km. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a wide variety of spices and small appliances for cooking. We have a small collection of cookbooks, books, puzzles and games. There is internet via Starlink and office space if you need to work. We have a robot mower but irrigation hasn't been installed yet in the garden so there might be watering that will need to …

Tourisme et loisirs

Asturias is an amazing province for nature and outdoor activities. Located in the area known as Green Spain, its cool and temperate climate makes for pleasant and warm temperatures in the summer but not excessive heat.

While the house is in the countryside, both Oviedo and Gijon are within a 30 minute drive. Oviedo was awarded the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy for 2024. There are several museums and historical sites to check out in the area. There are plenty of outdoor opportunities, with hiking, biking and walking routes in the area.
The ocean and beaches are also 30-45 minutes drive. There are city beaches with plenty of ammenities and also wild/natural beaches that take a hike to.

We would like to thank Laurent and Charles from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful time in Parades. Everything about this stay was perfect: the cats were very easy to look after and gave us plenty of time for excursions around Parades and to the Atlantic Ocean. On our return they greeted us happily, even though they were not cuddly cats. All three are very independent but welcomed our presence and played with us. The house was wonderful, with everything your heart desires. The large garden offered plenty of space to play and sunbathe and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet and nature away from tourism. Laurent and Charles were always available by phone and we were able to contact them if we had any questions. Thank you once again for the warm welcome and the confidence in us. We would be very happy to see you again (unfortunately we live so far away...)

This experience has been very positive, the surroundings and the house are beautiful and it has made me feel at home. Lauren is lovely, kind and generous. Being able to care for and enjoy Merlin, Malta and Jasnah has been fun. All three behave very well, and each one requires care that is easy to carry out since they are very good and loving. The house is in the middle of nature with all services 5 minutes away. Totally recommended, it's easy to get attached to them and I'm always grateful for their treatment of Lauren!!😊

Lauren and Charles welcomed me very well in their apartment, they are very gentle and the communication was perfect. Their cats are lovely, calm and well behaved. Their apartment is very clean, tidy and very confortable. I really recommend the stay there!
