The most important thing for us is a house-sitter who loves animals and wants to take good care of our little family! We have two young and adorable cats called Gideon (1.5 years) and Petaluma (9 months), we also have a little white rabbit who lives happily in the garden called Petardo and three chickens who are good friends with our rabbit, Maricarmen, Flora and Fiona.

Gideon and Petaluma are indoor cats although they do go out on the balcony. They are both rescue cats, Gideon came to us when he was 4 months and he was very scared. He is still very shy and loves attention but it takes him a while to build confidence with new people. Petaluma came to us with 2 months and is the opposite! She is incredibly affectionate and wants to be held and pet all the time. Gideon is also much more confident since Petaluma arrived. They get along very well and both really love to play and really love the company of humans.

The chickens are friendly and like people and also very autonomous. They have a chicken run where they sleep with an automatic door that opens in the morning and closes at night. During the day the chickens free roam around the garden. They like to be talked to and follow you around, they are very sweet.

The house is in a family neighborhood walking distance from the center of our town, Llinars del Vallès. It has a very big garden with beautiful trees and hammocks and a table set up for relaxing and listening to the birds and leaves. It is an old house that has not been renovated, with big wood windows that look out on the nearby mountains. It has central heating and an enormous sofa for a cozy winter and mosquito nets on all of the windows to be comfortable in summer. The house is on a second floor, the first floor is a large garage and a big studio room - which is useful for yoga or just having an indoor space to hang laundry etc. The house has two bedrooms and two offices that we use for work. The living room and kitchen have views of the nearby mountains. It is a quiet place close to nature, but also close enough to Barcelona that it is easy to go in daily. It is a 10 minute walk to the main part of Llinars del Valles and the train station where the local train goes directly to Barcelona and …

We have 2 bikes that you are welcome to use to explore the town and also the surrounding towns that are a 20-30 minute ride away (or 45 minute walk).

Llinars del Valles has an active community that often has cultural events in the town center on the weekends. People here love to do outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. It is really nice to take a walk to other surrounding towns to go to weekend markets and see the countryside. There plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars in the town, as well as supermarkets and a Friday weekly market. The train to Barcelona city center takes 45-50 minutes, is direct and leaves every half hour from 5:00 to 23:30. The sea is a 25 minute drive (you need a car) from Llinars del Valles toward the coast, Mataro is the closest beach town.

Tourisme et loisirs

Many people who live in Barcelona come to the area of Baix Montseny to hike the moutains or walk or bike in the countryside and forests. There are also climbing spots in the area that climbers tend to come to. The towns in the area have a lot of activities going on in summer especially and so many people come to the area for vacation from the city. We are 45 minutes by train from the city center of Barcelona so it is also easy to spend the day there going to museums, out to eat, to the beach in the city, etc.

J'ai passé un très bon séjour chez Inès et Alison. La maison est très agréable et reposante. Les animaux sont trop choux ❤️ Nous avons pris le temps de nous connaître et de vivre ensemble. Lorsque j'allais dans le jardin les poules et Petardo la lapine étaient autour de moi pour avoir des caresses 🥰. Gideon et petaluna adorent jouer et être caressés ! Je reviendrai avec grand plaisir si l'occasion se présente. Je recommande et merci encore pour votre confiance 🥰

Ines and Alison are very helpful and make sure everything runs smoothly. They communicate actively and are always ready to answer any questions or give instructions. The house is huge, fully equipped, surrounded by greenery and with mountain views, and with a variety of places you can choose from to study, work, or relax. Llinars is a very quiet area. I stayed alone in the house and at no point did I feel afraid or unsafe. The chickens are very cute and tame. Petardo is a sweetie who likes to be petted but doesn't like to be picked up. Luma is a sweetheart, very docile and loves to play, especially with balls. So she is an excellent player and growl around like a dog, which will make you laugh a lot. Gideon is quite fearful, even when playing. At night, he becomes more active, and skill and patience, you can have fun with him too. Lightning-fast internet. The market is very close, within walking distance, and bikes are available. A lovely stay. 100% recommended.

I would like to thank my hosts for their warm feedback! I was welcomed very well, and it was a pleasure to take care of their adorable animals. The minor issues I encountered were not problems at all, and I was able to handle them easily. I also enjoyed sending small photos to keep my hosts updated and to provide them with news about their pets while they were away.
