Meet my sweet Mia 🐾

Mia is a calm, sweet, neutered lady of around 10 years old whom I adopted from a rescue after she spent half of her life as a stray.

She's very low-maintenance: she just needs food, fresh water, access to the outdoors, and some affection (on her own terms!). She's not keen on being picked up or having attention forced on her, but she's not aggressive at all. Once you sit on the sofa or the bed, she'll usually hop up beside you for cuddles—if she decides you're worthy of them. 😊

Mia loves exploring the countryside around the apartment and comes and goes as she pleases. In summer, she sometimes spends the whole night outside before coming home in the morning.

One thing to know: she's an excellent mouser! If she's waiting at the door, just take a quick look before letting her in to make sure she isn't trying to bring one of her little trophies inside.

If you enjoy the company of an independent cat who simply likes having a kind, patient human around, Mia is the perfect companion.

About this stay We'll be away on holiday in Africa from 29 August to 19 September and are looking for a kind, reliable person (or couple) to take care of Mia and water our plants in exchange for staying in our apartment free of charge. Mia is very easy to look after and mostly enjoys having someone around while we're away. Our home

You'll be staying in our comfortable 100 m² apartment, located on the first floor (no lift) of a small building with only four apartments.

A private parking space is available in the shared double garage, which is shared with the apartment above ours and easily accommodates one car.

The apartment features:

A bedroom with a king-size bed.
A modern bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a bathtub, plus a separate toilet.
A hallway with a wardrobe and a coat and shoe closet.
A fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer and a dining area.
A cosy living room with a comfortable sofa bed and a TV with Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
A bright sunroom filled with plants, with a desk if you need a quiet place to work or read.

Please make yourself at home! You're welcome to enjoy our collection of board games, relax in the sunroom, or explore the peaceful countryside surrounding the apartment.

The area

The apartment is located in the peaceful Belgian countryside, just a few minutes from both the French and Luxembourg borders. It's the perfect base if you'd like to combine a relaxing stay in nature with plenty of activities and day trips.

There are beautiful walking and cycling routes through the surrounding forests right from the doorstep. If you're into outdoor activities, you'll find bouldering, karting, bowling, an accrobranche (treetop adventure park), and a Basic-Fit gym all within a 20-minute drive (the gym is less than 5 minutes away).

For shopping, the McArthurGlen Luxembourg Designer Outlet is only 5 minutes away by car.

The charming town of Arlon is just 10 minutes away with its cafés, restaurants and shops, while Luxembourg City is only about 20 minutes away thanks to the nearby motorway, making it an easy day trip to explore its UNESCO-listed old town, museums and viewpoints.

If you'd like to discover more of the region, the magnificent Bouillon Castle and the beautiful Orval Abbey are both well worth a visit and make excellent day trips.

Whether you prefer relaxing in the countryside, exploring historic sites, enjoying outdoor activities or shopping, there's plenty to discover within a short drive.

Séjour très agréable chez Marguerite ! L'appartement est propre et la terrasse est un vrai plus — j'ai même pu goûter les fruits et légumes de ses plantes, délicieux. Mia est un peu sur ses gardes au début mais très caline : elle se colle aux jambes sur le canapé, c'est adorable. Charlie, lui, communique beaucoup et adore se coucher sur les humains — impossible de se lever ! 😄 La communication avec Marguerite est très facile, on se sent bien accueilli. Je recommande sans hésiter!
