Animaux à besoins spécifiques | 3 Chats

We have 3 cats; a 16 year old brother and sister and a 10 year old female.
The two older cats, Teitur & Bjalla, are very friendly, they warm up to new people quickly and love cuddles and pets. The youngest cat, Lína, is more skittish and needs time to get to know new people. She is very curious and loves to play.
They are all indoor cats and we have an automated litter box (litter robot) so no scooping necessary. The bag needs to be emptied once a day. They have access to dry food all day and get a can of wet food in the evening.
The cats are not used to children or other animals.

Bjalla requires oral medication twice a day for her thyroid. It’s liquid and measured using a syringe. She is very easy to handle and likes the taste of the medicine so we’ve found it easy to administer.

Teitur is deaf and can be quite vocal, he meows loudly to ask for attention. He is very affectionate and petting him or combing his fur helps calm him down.

Bright and roomy apartment in the south of Amsterdam, with recently renovated kitchen and bathrooms. It's located in a quiet, safe neighborhood with nice parks and outside of the main tourist areas. In the daytime you will encounter locals going about their lives and in the evenings the streets are quiet. In the living room there are two desks with adjustable chairs and 4k monitors, as well as high speed internet, in case you'd like to work from the apartment. You can get Uber Eats or Deliveroo to deliver from roughly 100 different restaurants. The smart TV has surround sound and an HDMI cable to watch from your own device. We like to cook and the kitchen is pretty well equipped, with two ovens, dishwasher and an induction countertop. The stay is suitable for 1-2 people. The guest room has two single beds that can be used separately or attached together, as well as ensuite sink and shower. There is a washer/dryer combo in the apartment and a drying rack for hanging laundry. There is a supermarket right across the street where you can find all the essentials. Within a 15 minute walk are butcher shops, bakeries, fruit vendors, dry cleaner, cheese stores, large …

Tourisme et loisirs

Amsterdam is a great city with countless attractions and restaurants. Despite the multiple points of interest it is surprisingly small and has a good transport system of buses, trams, metros and trains so getting around is quite easy. You can use credit/debit cards to check in and out of public transport systems.

There is a bus stop around the corner from the apartment that takes about 10 minutes to get to Amsterdam Zuid train station. This station offers great connections to take day trips to other cities, such as Den Haag, Utrecht or Haarlem from the Zuid station. It takes about 30 minutes to get from Schiphol airport to our apartment by public transport, or around 15 minutes by taxi.

Hrefna & Ernir are a welcoming and open hearted young couple who gave me all the necessary information for the welfare of the canine family and the flat, which is very well situated with nearby shopping centre and supermarket, restaurants and public transport around the corner. All this in the middle of a very green area super for cycling, hiking and running. But… apart from all this, there are the three most adorable cats, full of charm, letting you cuddle them from day one, quite often asking for it and a real joy to take care off! I highly recommend this cat-sitting experience which I enjoyed to the full. Many thanks to Hrefna and Ernir for this exceptionable opportunity.

We stayed at Ernir's and Hrefna's home in Amsterdam and it was a great experience. Hrefna and Ernir are wonderful people, very open minded and great to be around. They welcomed us with open arms and took us out for dinner, explained everything, gave us great tipps for Amsterdam. The flat was spotless, very clean and with great appliances. And the most important: We really enjoyed our time with the cats. They love cuddles and being petted and are so easy to care for. They really grew on us during our stay and we miss them a lot. Thank you very much, Hrefna and Ernir, for giving us this great experience!

I had a wonderful time in this green part of Amsterdam. The apartment is very tidy, bright and well organized. The cats are very easy to take care of. The communication was really easy going. So … I had a great time (and yes the beautiful weather was helpful)
