Two 11 lb miniature poodles, a large Tonkinese male cat, a medium Siamese mix, 8 lb girl cat, one yr old boy cat and two older female rescues in an outdoor catio. All animals are neutered and healthy. Dogs love walks! Dogs get allergy pill as needed. Ducks get fed once daily.

(More house pics coming soon.) Large solar array on house with Tesla equipment and hybrid electric car for use means very low utility and gas bills. Beautiful neighborhood, 3/4 mile to oceanfront, great for walking and bicycling. Fully equipped, beautiful modern kitchen and bath with custom bamboo cabinets. Pets are two miniature poodle brothers, (Beau and Sunny, 11 yr old), a 15 yr old Tonkinese cat (Kai), a 3 yr old Siamese mix (Lily), 1 yr old boy cat (Teddy), two rescued outdoor girls in catio outside (Mitzi and Bastet), and a small and entertaining flock of free-range Muscovy ducks. Looking for sitter with great driving record and a bit of pet experience. Relaxed, beautiful semi-rural subdivision. 15 miles to the small city of Hilo with many beaches and services, 6 miles to the interesting and eclectic village of Pahoa. 45 min drive to Volcanoes National Park. 1 hour drive to Mauna Kea, 2 hours to Kailua-Kona. The house is simple but very modern, comfortable, low maintenance and casual. Very large outdoor living/dining area. Great bike-riding area with an electric bike and electric trike. SUV is an electric that will make roundtrips anywhere with no gas usage!

The Big Island of Hawaii is diverse, beautiful, peaceful and safe. From beaches to 14,000 ft mountains with volcanoes and telescopes, to a charming small university town, the Big Island has it all. This pet sitting experience was truly unique, as we felt more like locals than visitors. We were warmly welcomed by Carol and James who made us feel right at home and gave us a great introduction to the island! While they were away, we spent most of our time at the house, as the dogs needed to go out every 2 hours and prefer not to be left alone, but all of Carol’s animals are very sweet and easy to bond with. Carol’s home is in a peaceful neighborhood close to the coast where we enjoyed taking walks and taking in the beautiful scenery. Carol is one of the kindest people we have ever met and generously hosted us before and after their trip so that we could explore more of the island, and even allowed us to use their car to get around. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we are grateful to Carol to have had this experience!

Carol and James were very welcoming hosts and made all the house amenities available to us. They provided information about the area such as places to visit and concerts to attend. The animals were very easy to look after and we enjoyed the time we spent with them.
