Samaipata

No hemos podido asistir al cuidado por un cambio de planes, sin embargo el intercambio con Olaf fue siempre excelente, muy atento a las notificaciones, y lamentamos que no hayamos podido realizar el viaje. Siempre nos queda pendiente ir a Samaipata. Gracias Olaf

Olaf's house is comfortable and very well equipped for those who like to cook. There's is a small garden with some plants to water but nothing overwhelming. The cats are cute and easy to care for. Most of them stay outside the house and only 4 of them will come inside. There's is a large balcony on the 1st floor, with a beautiful view to the village of Samaipata, which is definitely worth knowing. People are friendly and we felt at home there. The daily market offers fresh fruits and vegetables at very affordable prices. There's also some international restaurants and some night live during the weekend. It's a great place to go to Cuevas and enjoy the magnificent waterfalls. The Fuerte is also not to be missed. Olaf was kind to us and shown us around the village before he left. Although he was traveling around the world he was always responsive and easy to get in touch with. The house is located 10 mn walk from the market. So it's sometimes quiet and sometimes noisy, considering one can hear some traffic. There's a lot of dogs in the neighborhood too, and they do bark but not all the time. The matresses in the house are made of sisal and are very hard, too hard for me. Hopefully the couch was comfortable and that's where I ended up sleeping! We enjoyed our stay very much and we recommend Olaf's place to anyone willing to discover the beautiful village of Samaipata.

Olaf is a very friendly, open and helpful home owner! We stayed in his lovely home for 2 months. He was able to give us very good tips for day trips close by. He is also very knowledgeable about most of South America. Samaipata is a beautiful small town, with everything you need within walking distance. Don't be scared off by the amount of cats, as they are mostly only there for feeding times. For cat lovers this is absolute paradise. Within no time each of them grew into our hearts. I would 100%% recommend Olaf and the town of Samaipata as well worth the visit!
