We have a 4 year old male bichon, likes laps and is very affectionate, and a 2 year old female black labrador cross, likes people and with lots of energy. We like to give them 2 walks a day, in the village or in the woods and meadows nearby. They both like company and attention, and cannot be left alone for a whole day. The cats, both female, are easy and just need feeding, but they are friendly if sometimes aloof and not at all aggressive. We have helpful friendly neighbours who know the house and the pets and would be willing to help if needed.

Farmhouse and converted barn in small village but close to several small towns on the River Seine, 15 minutes from Fontainebleau and nearby train station with direct access to Paris.

Although the village has no shops, and minimal public transport, the towns of Hericy, Chatelet en Brie and Vulaine are only about 7 minutes away by car, and provide adequate shopping, restaurants and other services. The village is picturesque, friendly and bordered on one side by agricultural fields and on the other by valleys, with orchards, pastures and forests. Fontainebleau, with its historic castle, and famous forests and rock-climbing, and the River Seine, are only a short drive away.

Peter and Hilde welcomed me warmly into their beautiful home with their lovinng and entertaining pets. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting their family and loved spending time with Benji and Maya. Very generously Peter and Hilde offered me the use of their car and suggested places of interest to explore nearby. However I found myself content to explore the trails through the forests and fields with Benji and Maya and enjoyed having access to their excellent library. I would return anytime our schedules align. Highly recommended!
