We have a 11 year old Westie who is used to having people around. That said, he can easily be left in his crate for a 3-4 hours or so while we are out. He enjoys 2-3 walks a day. He loves going for car rides and is a good traveller. He is quiet and loves to lay by the fire with his toys. He is a loving little guy.

Our dates are not yet firm. We're waiting before we buy our tickets. We would like to have the house sitter come at least 1 day before we leave so that we can show you around our home, introduce you to our dog and give instructions on his care. We would also like to be able to show you some of the neighbourhood and give information of what this wonderful city has to offer that may be of interest to you during your stay.

Two storey, 14 year old home in lovely neighbourhood. 2 1/2 bathrooms, 2000 sq feet not including the finished basement that has a large 3D television. Fenced yard, with large back porch. City trails close by. Woods at end of street is lovely for walking. Friendly neighbours.
This is a non smoking house.

Our home has many CD's, which are available for your use. You are welcome to read any of the books. Bikes are also available.

Our home is easy to maintain. It has central vac, main floor washer & dryer. The living area is open concept with fireplace and a separate dining room. Furnishings are comfortable and relaxing. Upstairs has 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are used as offices. One of these can be made available for your use. Internet is available. There are 2 1/2 bathrooms. We have a finished basement with second fireplace and a large screen TV. The yard is fenced. There are patio doors off the dinette area leading on to a deck and deep back porch.

Tourisme et loisirs

London is a wonderful city to explore. It is large enough to offer many interesting cultural events and festivals with out being overwhelming to navigate about town. There are numerous bike and walking paths. London is called the Forest City with many natural areas, green spaces and over 200 parks! The Arts & Culture scene is enjoyable with events offered at the Grand Theatre, Hyland Cinema, Wolf Performance Hall & Palace Theatre, to name a few. The Budweiser Gardens offers large concerts, performances and hockey games featuring the successful London Knights team. This is a university town with events available on campus for the general public. The city also has a world class hospital. The near by towns of Port Stanley and Stratford are close enough to easily drive to for a nice diversion. Both are popular with tourist and locals for their Festival theatres and lovely shops. Also, we are located between 2 of the great lakes, Lakes Erie and Huron, both of which are a 1 hour drive. This allows for lovely day tours.

This was our first long term house sitting assignment and it was a wonderful experience. The owners are very kind and welcoming. From our initial video chat, through our arrival and departure, we felt comfortable all the way. Communication with them was great and they are very responsive. Their home is lovely and very comfortable. They have a very sweet pup named Duffy and he was a joy to be around. Unfortunately, we experienced a medical crisis with Duffy but after some challenges and recovery, it all ended well. Though we had some communication challenges with the owners being on the other side of the world, they were quick to respond and follow up regarding Duffy's condition once we made contact. It's difficult to be so far away when your fur baby is sick. The owner's were kind enough to allow us to bring our own dog and cat to this house sitting assignment. The three animals got along very well and seem to enjoy hanging out, walking and playing together. Duffy was so calm and non-territorial, he's great around other animals! He would be a great dog to take to a house sitting assignment as he is calm, easy and well behaved. Nothing seems to phase him. I would highly recommended this house sit and would do it again if the situation presented itself.
