Our two cats need a little human attention each day, and we like them to come in at night and be given food and water daily. We want the mail and newspaper to be brought in every day.
We want our home to be treated respectfully so that we come home to a house that looks like we left it. This is NOT a party house.
Note that there to get to the front door you have to walk up about 20 stairs, and all the bedrooms are on the second floor.

Comfortable, traditional, up-dated craftsman home with lovely, informal, private garden. Very convenient location - easy walk to restaurants and coffee shops, groceries, public transit, and farmers' market.

Great kitchen for people who like to cook.

Our home is very comfortable and convenient. The beautiful kitchen and adjacent family room both look out onto a lovely and quiet garden. It's easy to walk to the metro train (BART) to get to San Francisco or downtown Oakland or to the airport. Rockridge and Temescal neighborhood shopping districts are both an easy walk, offering coffee shops, restaurants, small stores, groceries, pharmacy, etc. The neighborhood is pleasant and urban, but not too crowded - mostly single-family homes and small apartments.

Tourisme et loisirs

Oakland offers a large variety of good restaurants (and beer gardens). Redwood Regional Park is a beautiful place to walk in the redwood trees, around 15 minute drive from our house. The Oakland Museum focuses on California. Oakland is also an excellent location from which to explore the San Francisco Bay Area. Downtown San Francisco itself is a short metro (BART) ride away. Beautiful beaches and walking trails (Point Reyes, Stinson Beach, Golden Gate Recreational Area ) are 40 - 90 minute drives. The University of California, Berkeley campus is a couple of miles from the house.

We had an amazing stay at Jim and Linda's gorgeous home taking care of their two very sweet cats. This is a great neighborhood and the garden is fabulous. Jim and Linda were very communicative. What a wonderful house-sitting experience!
