The yard, the huge terrace, the stunning jungle around you make our home a gift to your eyes!

We have 2 dogs – Molly and Sadie; a watch cat – Otis; and some laying hens. The hens, our extermination system, give us fresh free-range eggs and keep the yard free of bugs. Otis, the watch cat, keeps the rodents under control and the dogs, our security system guards the acreage and keeps the hens off the decks! They both take their jobs very seriously!

Your responsibilities are to feed all the critters – cat and dogs twice per day. Chickens are fed once per day and let out of their yard midday- ish (after they lay their eggs), and locked in their house at sunset, or when you get home from the Mona Grita, a local expat hangout with good, food and cold Imperial!

Our pets are really pretty simple to look after... they don't need or ask for a lot of attention. Acreage living keeps them busy and fit! Molly and Sadie will need their back scrubs and a few pets throughout the day and at dusk they help close the doors to the chicken coop and get special treats!.

The jungle life is abundant with animals, birds... monkeys will wake you up each morning at 5:00 ish! The views are stunning, of the jungle and the mountains surrounding our home. You are a short 15 minute drive from local beaches, and towns.

Everything is a drive from our house, too far and too steep to walk! You will need to rent a car for this house sit. I will assist you to get the best price available!

The pool is always refreshing! Tranquillity and nature at it's best!

No need for AC, the fresh mountain breezes keep our home at a perfect temperature!
Our decor is rustic, jungle ... bamboo. The house is "Old Spanish Villa" in the jungle.

You will need to rent a car.... we are 6 miles into the mountains, and our car will be with us in San Jose. Having your own car will make exploring this beautiful part of Costa Rica more fun!

Swim in waterfalls, explore beaches, great restaurants, etc. Visit the amazing Baruca spheres,, the museum at Finca 6, the Baruca reserva, have lunch in Sierpe on the river, explore the caves at Tortuga and Ventana beaches, etc!

Bamboo Room and the Mona Grita on Fridays at 5 are "must" do, as a local expat hangout with great food and amazing live music!

We had such a wonderful stay, and Rita and her husband Bill couldn't have been nicer. My daughters spent a lot of time in the pool and hanging out with the 2 dogs and cat, who were some of favorite pets we have cared for. I highly recommend this stay, the beach is close, and this part of Costa Rica is just divine.
