Our priority is completely our Golden Retriever - Solly. She is 5 years old and is a very mellow, calm dog still with plenty of energy for long walks and absolutely loves the snow, very much a ‘snow-dog’
We recognise that a 'chalet in the Alps' can attract skiers, however we have found that Solly is great following us on snow shoes but not so keen on downhill skiing ! Whilst there are good walks from the door going further afield with the dog in the car offers many more opportunities.

We plan to leave early on 23rd January and so would like house sitters to arrive after lunch on 22nd so that we can show people around in the light and we will return before lunch on 3rd February.

We live in a lovely chalet in the French Alps, peacefully located in a traditional farming hamlet and yet only 45 minutes from Geneva, Chamonix and the beautiful old town of Annecy. There are walks from the door and wonderful opportunities to hike and snowshoe up on nearby plateaus. The chalet is at 700 metres and we can often have snow around us through the winter and so people coming need to be at ease driving on snowy roads and should have winter tyres or at least chains / snow socks. Fitted with underfloor heating and two wood burners it is a very cozy home and well equipped with all modern facilities. Our home offers a great 'living space' and in particular our 'sunroom' is flooded with light and sunshine. It's an oasis of calm, approx 2km from the nearest village - a car is required. We walk out for half an hour or so from the chalet for a morning walk before coffee and catching up 'on the world'. Typically we take Solly out again late morning or early afternoon for at least an hours walk and 2/3 times per week enjoy a longer hike up on one of the nearby …

Tourisme et loisirs

Whilst we are located in the calm of a farming hamlet it is only 20 minutes to La Clusaz and Grand Bornand and only 45 minutes to Chamonix, and the beautiful old town of Annecy. There are several traditional French markets in the area and an excellent range of restaurants. The real pleasure is 'being in the mountains' which are stunning.

Anny et Peter sont des personnes adorables et tellement chaleureuses. Nous nous sommes sentis tout de suite à l’aise dans leur si joli chalet. Nous ne manquerons pas de les revoir. Quant à Solly, c’est un amour de chien, calme, gentille et toutes les balades que nous avons faites ensemble ont été un bonheur. De la voir se rouler dans la neige, car elle aime tellement ça qu’elle n’hésite pas à en prendre dans sa gueule, est un vrai spectacle. Elle a tellement d’amour dans le regard que cela a été un déchirement de la quitter…
