Looking for a caring and responsible housesitter to look after our dog Nala and our cats Oscar and Felix for either six or nine days in north London, Barnet, close to convenient transport into central London.
We'd like to do a handover with the house-sitter before we go.. We have a friend who can do the first four days with handover if six days is better for you, but happy to have you do the whole period we are away, if nine days is preferable.
Main duties involve feeding the animals and changing their water, walking Nala every day and generally making sure the property is kept secure while we're away. You will need to be at the property every night so the house is occupied. The garden plus potted plants indoors and outside might need some watering. Please make sure all doors and windows are locked when going out.
Nala is our rescue dog, a Romanian shepherd cross, who we adopted last year. She’s Golden Retriever size and has a lovely gentle temperament. She is affectionate, loves her food, is happy sleeping on the sofa or bed, and has at least one walk a day, sometimes two. She can be left alone …

Our lovely cats Oscar and Felix are brothers who love strokes when they get to know you. They can get easily scared of strangers and will hide, that's why it's good for the person housesitting to visit before we go away if possible. They like playing, curling up on the bed at night or keeping you company in the garden. Felix is the greedy one and will usually find you when it’s nearly feeding time. They also like sleeping on the bed.

Précisions sur les dates

The dates we're away are 15th to 17th October but I'd would prefer to do a handover either on the day we're leaving or a day or two before. Happy to have the housesitter stay longer than those dates for an extra couple of nights with me being around (for example before we're away or when we return or either side of dates we're away) to provide them the chance to explore London without pet caring responsibilities.

Our house is a good base for exploring London. It's a 1930s semi-detached we're in the process of renovating with a garden and space to sit outside, plus access to wifi and TV. It's very close to the tube into central London and bus-stops to neighbouring areas. We have a park and open space on our road, and plenty of green open spaces and fields on local walks nearby. Our house is an ideal base if you wish to explore London, both the busy tourist areas and the quieter greener parts. It's in a quiet residential street, close to a park and fields, so there's plenty of open space and local walks (such as the London Loop). It's close to the city by bus or tube and countryside within walking distance. We have an attractive cinema around the corner (Barnet Everyman). The local high street has a market and all the usual amenities of shops, cafes and restaurants very close by. To explore other parts of London, the busstops and underground (tube) station are a few minutes walk away. We have a good sized garden with a patio and seating and table for eating outdoors. Our house is gradually being renovated …

Our house is gradually being renovated since moving in but you'll have access to a kitchen area and bathroom, the main living room with wifi and TV streaming, and one double bedroom (so only suitable for 1 to 2 people).

We're in an attractive suburb of London with lots of green open spaces and parks to enjoy as well as local amenities and shops. But also very quick travel links into central London and tourist attractions, with more museums and theatre and cultural activities.

Sue was very welcoming and friendly and we had a great time at her house. Nala is a lovely dog and Oscar the cat warmed up to us quickly. Her house is in a beautiful part of London with plenty of open spaces. The Underground (Northern Line) is just a short walk away. We look forward to visiting again one day.
