Biscarrosse

Two lovely Weimaraners. They are Kongo (11 years old, so slowing down a bit), and Mwanza (9 years old energetic and very obedient). They are a couple and love the bits out of each other. They need one, 2-hour interactive walkies a day (early morning in summer and between 12h and 14h during hunting season/winter) and then bouts of interaction in the garden (ball play, treat searching, play, etc.). The security, excercise and love of the dogs is my priority!

The woods near us are not frequented so we don't really have any problems and other dogs are easily avoidable. They are reactive to other dogs when on lead so you need to be able to hold on tight (physically strong) and remain calm. This happens rarely but happens. They eat 2 times per day (with supplements) and should not be left alone for more than 6 hours (8 on occasion). I am looking for someone who wants to comfort and cuddle the dogs, talk to them and generally be present for their needs. They are very intellegent and so very sensitive to human moods and affection.

I am looking to find someone who can at least come and stay for two of these weeks. I have a friend who will come for another two weeks and a kennel that can also take them for a time.

We live in tiny house (maisonnette) of 26m2 with an 80m2 private back garden and a private front covered bike (bikes provided) and open car parking (car not provided). We are a five minute walk from 50km of woods for walkies.

It is fully equipped with a log burner, electric heater, dishwasher, fan, washing machine, gas stove, reading chair, outdoor kitchen with plancha, mini bbq, fridge, espresso machine, etc. Your bed is a thick matressed fold out for two. The dogs' large bed is their safe space and stays in the house. So space is tight but cozy and warm. Private garden and terrace in the back and covered terrace in the front. We live in a small enclave at the exterior of the town Biscarrosse Bourg callled « en Bergoin ». Access via bike or car in under 15 minutes (bike) to all amenities of a town: local market, supermarket, gym, bars, local social activities, restaurants, pharmacie, boulangeries, etc. The beach is an hour on bike or 15 minutes by car.

A typical day for us is a 2 hour walk either at 6h or 12h (we avoid hours when others are about for our own tranquility). The dogs are fed their first meal either +1 hour before or after their walk (season dependant). Then they can chill in the garden as you live your life at the house (wifi not available but an eSIM with 150GB provided in an iPhone) or they remain in the house while you go out for a span of MAX 8 hours. I try to keep it 6 hours.

When you come home be sure to interact for a bit (20-30 mins) in the garden (moderate ball play, treats in the grass, brush them, bone chewing, etc.). Cuddles are very important to my dogs so they have access to all furniture so they can sit with you to watch telly on your computer etc. BUT they respect the command to get off of the sofa chair when you wish it. Their second meal is anytime between 17h and 20h.

The dogs sleep inside on their single human sized bed that is near to yours. Unless they need to releave themselves (only in urgency), they leave you in peace to sleep. If they do need to go out, they will lick your arm or boop you with their nose so you can open the door for them.

The house is very cozy and the feeling of this post is Netflix and chill.

I think the best is to Google Biscarrosse. We are in Biscarrosse Bourg but Biscarrosse Plage, Bordeaux and all of the Bassin d'Arcachon are easily accessible if you have a car. Without a car (like me!) we have access to Biscarrosse Bourg and Plage quite easily, Bassin d'Arcachon is medium accessible, but getting as far as Bordeaux is difficult. Bikes provided.
