We have a young Spanish Mastin dog who is very friendly. He is always on the property and likes to walk with you there. He gets food and fresh water three times a day. The cats need only food and water once a day. The cats and dog do not come into the houses, they have their own little home. There is an automatic irrigation system for the garden that needs to be checked regularly.

We have two houses on terraces on a hillside, close to the village Aldeanueva the la Vera. There is also an outdoor kitchen. Our houses are close to a mountain river with natural swimming pool. Around is a beautiful one hectare garden (terraces) with olive and fruit trees. We have our own well with delicious drinking water. The garden has a nice view over the valley (South). From the finca there are footpaths direct into the mountains. Lots of birds such as nightingales, orioles, bee-eaters. The la Vera region has a green nature because of the attractive micro climate. The Gredos Mountains are wonderful for nature lovers. And try the kitchen of Extremadura! We have many CD`s and books (Dutch and English). Also books about the region. Traditional folklore is often to be enjoyed. It´s very quiet and close to the village ( 10 minutes walking). This village has a little supermarket, butcher, vegetable shop, bakery, a few restaurants and bars. You can enjoy being in our garden. Feel free to eat the ripe fruit. You can make walks and bicycle tours from the house. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood. The La Vera region is also culturally …

There are many nature trails to walk or with bicycle. Mountain rivers with natural pools. Historical villages: Aldeanueva (church of San Pedro ,13th century, fountain of the eight spouts). Cuacos de Yuste (old town and Monastery), Jarandilla (castle, 15th century, beautiful natural pool close to Roman bridge), Valverde (old town), Guijo de Santa Bárbara (Highest village), Jaraíz de la Vera (paprika museum and lake in the forest). Restaurants are very affordable. Friendly people.
