Guatapé

Currently we have no pets, however there are many birds that forage around the trees here, and colibris often visit.

End date is TBD, but we'd like someone that can commit for at least 2 months.

A 2-hour drive from Medellin, our beautiful rural 'finca' in Guatapé is uniquely situated tucked away in a small valley, surrounded by a private stream, bamboo forest, with an open fire-pit and grill. Close to the famous 'Piedra', swimming, waterfalls and eco-trails..

We're looking for a single person or a couple to home-sit LONGER-TERM (2 month) and help to maintain the property and ecological retreat in beautiful Guatapé Colombia. We are building an organic vegetable garden and eco-cabañas (cabin), working with local materials (wood, bamboo, adobe). Looking for people who also speak Spanish preferably. Tasks include maintaining the vegetable garden and do small maintenance around the property (e.g. weeding).

I'm a Dutch-born entrepreneur based in Medellin and founder of this project that includes, organic agriculture, rural co-working and impact workshops in Guatapé, wich is rural Colombia 1.5 hours of Medellin. We have a 4000 m2 terrain with a stream, Bambu (Guadua) and fruit trees.

There's a fully functional and comfortable (small) house on the property with bedroom, study, and full bathroom (hot shower) and separate kitchen, comfortable bed.

There's a good road bike available for your use.

The finca is situated about 15m from the village on bicycle, in the absolute tranquility of rural Guatapé, bordered by a natural creek and reserve. It is the perfect place to get away from the noisy city and quietly wind down, read, write or meditate.
Other activities to do include Kayaking, Rock climbing (there's is a climbing wall on the property that you can use), Hiking, Yoga, Cooking & Dining.

Guatapé has become a very popular town with Tourist, its major attraction being the lake (la represa) and the huge stone (la Piedra), on which you can lose your breath to the 740-step La Piedra and we walk the length and breadth of the town, making sure the brightly painted homes. You can also take a boat ride through the tiny islands, and we join the locals for some Sunday strolling along the waterfront. The finca is on the back road from the stone, a 15m ride away.
