We have two dogs: a female named Moerje and a male named Fischbrötchen. Moerje is a lovely and calm dog, a local Singaporean mix with a clear Labrador influence. She can be shy with strangers and other dogs, but responds by being passive and quiet. She will surely warm up to you after a day or two. On the other hand, Fischbrötchen warms up quickly, and is playful and cuddly after he has gotten to know you. He's currently a puppy, but by the time of your stay he will be nearly fully grown. We feed both dogs twice a day (morning & evening) with a mix of kibble and food that we cook ourselves (we will provide you with the cooked food beforehand so you only need to take it out of the fridge/freezer). We walk them three times a day (each time about 15 minutes). If you like dogs, you will love Moerje and Fischbrötchen.

We also have two small rabbits, Wurmchen and Plankton, who are very friendly and kind. They live in a separate area in the living room. Every day (morning and evening) they get fresh food (a variety of vegetables). We buy their food at a …

We can also recommend this spot for grocery shopping for ones' own needs ;-) Once a week we clean the cage which takes approx. 20-25 minutes. Wurmchen and Plankton have each other therefore they do not rely on you petting them (if you do of course we are sure that they will appreciate it nonetheless).

Our couch is really comfortable and invites you to spend a relaxing evening there with music and wine. Our flat is in a calmer area of Singapore with plenty of green around. At the same time, in Singapore you can never be more than about 15 minutes away from the busy metropolitan scene. Within walking distance (about 5 minutes) is a smaller grocery store and one of the famous Singapore hawker centers. Our flat is in a calmer area of Singapore with plenty of green around. At the same time, in Singapore you can never be more than about 15 minutes away from the busy metropolitan scene. Within walking distance (about 5 minutes) is a smaller grocery store and one of the famous Singapore hawker centers. A bit further (15 minutes by bus or 5 minutes by taxi) is a bigger shopping mall with a huge grocery store and lots of shopping opportunities (including cute book stores with unusual tourist gifts, but also common brands like Hush Puppies or Esprit). And a little further still (40 minutes by public transit or 20 minutes by taxi) is the commercial and nightlife center, Chinatown, and many other tourist attractions like the botanical garden.

We spend most of our time in the neighborhood, and enjoy activities like playing board games and video games (which will be made available to you of course as well). The flat is the perfect sanctuary in which to relax from a busy day downtown.

Singapore offers the perfect balance of metropolis and nature. It is a vibrant city that is known for its shopping malls and night life, but Singapore also offers many opportunities to connect with nature, for example at the Jurong bird park or the Gardens by the Bay, a nature park with stunning supertrees. Moreover, what has gone rather unnoticed by tourists is Singapore's small distance to neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, making it a perfect destination for day trips. For example, the almost Caribbean-looking Indonesian island "Pulau Bintan" is only a 1h45min ferry drive away from Singapore and, therefore, perfect for a little time-out at the beach.

Elena and Ben were informative and flexible with our arrival schedule. My sister and I fell in love with Fischbrötchen and Moerje. It was especially heartwarming when they both warmed up to us. FB is a playful pup who loves to chew anything and everything. Moerje is sweet and shy; it's a victory when she seeks attention! She's completely different when out on her walks. She's outgoing and pretty social. Both of these dogs would really benefit from going out with a runner. They both have a lot of energy and would really love it! Sadly, we aren't runners but we took them out at least 4 times a day and even convinced them to try new paths! It was rewarding to see how they gained confidence with us! Elena and Ben provided a great introduction and welcome packet. We were able to keep in touch easily and they were grateful for updates. Their home was comfortable and bright and the bunnies were cute. We eventually learned that we could ride the campus busses for free and enjoyed the student North Spine Food court with more options than the nearby canteen. There's also a big grocery store in the North Spine center that is better than the one near the canteen and 7/11. Getting to and from the main attractions in the city usually take about an hour. It takes 2 hours to get to the airport via public transit or $25 Grab ride.

We loved our Housesit at Elena's and Ben's apartment. The communication in advance was really friendly and when we arrived in Singapore we felt welcomed from the first moment on. Moerje (the dog) ist really shy, but with the time she got used to us. The two bunnies were easy to handle and just cute. Thank you so much for these good days in Singapore.

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Ben & Elena's apartment on a beautiful leafy University campus in amazing Singapore. Moerje the dog is very shy but she warmed up to us. The rabbits were cute and no trouble at all. Ben & Elena were wonderful hosts, they left us very detailed instructions and did everything they could to make it very easy for us. We had a great time in Singapore and left with some very fond memories.
