Firefly is a well-socialized canine who needs medication (pill in peanut butter) to prevent seizures, but mostly easy. She doesn’t want much exercise, but loves attention and being in your lap/up against you whenever possible. As long as you don’t mind a cuddle and provide regular mealtimes she will be pleased with you.

Plus maintaining the apartment in a clean and common-sense fashion. I’m highly allergic to air-fresheners and perfumes. So (this is a strange one!) I also ask that you not use strong perfumes or soaps around the place. I have “free and clear” laundry soap, dish soap, etc. for your use during your stay.

Leaving on either May 23 or 24. Normally, I have sitters come and stay in the guest room the night before I leave. With Covid-concerns, unless you are a local sitter who can visit beforehand, I’d ask that you please be willing and able to spend a night in a hotel (there’s one a couple blocks away). So we can meet, see the place, the dog, town, and trade off the next morning instead of all staying together in the apartment. I’ll make sure everything is as clean and aired as possible on my way out.

Seeking clean, responsible, and conscientious individual or couple with petsitting experience for late May on Bainbridge Island with a senior Smooth Fox Terrier. Bainbridge is a picturesque Pacific Northwest Island. You have to take a ferry from Seattle to get here.

Two-bedroom, one-bath apartment is located right in Winslow, BI's downtown. Absolutely no smoking or drugs, please.

The small apartment is up one exterior flight of stairs and has another flight inside. You have to go up and down these just to let the dog out, so please be aware of this inconvenience. Guest room (pictured) has a queen bed and desk.

No cable. No TV. No landline. WiFi is shared and usually good, but can be slow. Cell service is fine, though, due to the aforementioned scarcity, I would not want to stay here without an unlimited cell plan.

Laundry is shared and coin-operated.

So yes, the apartment is small and basic, but the location can't be beat! Bainbridge Island, Seattle, and the Olympic Peninsula at your door!

Tourisme et loisirs

Bainbridge Island is a 35-minute ferry ride west of Seattle. At your doorstep are restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment, parks and beaches, shopping, bakeries and cafes, museums, etc. 10-minute walk to waterfront park and harbor.

You can walk to the ferry in 15 minutes for access to Seattle on foot. Having a car here is not necessary. If you do have a car, there are also hundreds of acres of public parks and trails, beaches, forests, and open spaces to visit.

I so enjoyed being at Jordan's place on Bainbridge Island with her cute doggie, Firefly, who was easy to love and care for. Jordan was even generous enough to allow a friend of mine to come and stay too for a visit to Seattle. The island has everything you could possibly need and the ferry to Seattle is convenient and fun. A person can get by without a car easily. What a beautiful part of the country! Jordan was organized, together and a wonderful person to meet.
