We have a 13 yrs. old Riesenschnauzer "lady" called Lotte and 2 rabbits. The rabbits just need to be fed in the morning and evening with opening a port in the morning to enable them to get outside by themselves. This port shall be closed in the evening. Thats it.
Our senior dog lady needs some more attention, due to her high age. She gets food in the morning and 1 tablet. In the evening she only gets another tablet - no problem with some liver sausage around it.
She only can have a small walk a day.
she has some difficulties to acces the few stairs into the house, but she still makes it. She loves to sleep 3-4 hours after breakfast. She loves to be hugged. She is very nice and peaceful and does not want much anymore. To have it warm and cosy (on the matress) and to have some companionship over the day is great.
She is used to be alone at home, the garden is completely fenced.
There is an issue at night. She sometimes does not make it from the evening to the morning. She might "call" in the morning to get out. If …

We are visiting our older daughter in Ecuador/ Quito where she is doing a voluntary social work for 1 year. She left in August 2024. We leave home on 16th January very early, 3 am and come back on 6th FEB afternoon.

We renewed the whole house in 2011-2015 (windows, heating, electricity, kitchen, floors..etc.) In the first floor we have a bathroom with shower, the kitchen with a terrace window-door outside in the yard, a living room and a working room with a desk. Upstairs there is a bathroom with bathtub, and 3 more rooms. I may point out our sauna house in the back of our garden. It is great! Only in winter, due to temperatures below 0 degrees, we have to cut off the garden water supply. Our solution is a 10 l water bag, which we use for cooling off after sauna. In our kitchen we have a lovely kamin oven. It is great to see the fire flames, if it is cold outside. There is sufficient wood availalbe ready to use. Our village is called BEETZ. It belongs to the small city of Kremmen, which is 8 km away. Unfortunately, there are no shopping options in Beetz. We recommend to come by car. In Kremmen there is everything needed (3 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery). It is also possible to …

Unfortunately, there are no shopping options in Beetz. We recommend to come by car. In Kremmen there is everything needed (3 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery). It is also possible to take the train to Kremmen, going further all the way to Berlin (about 1 h) or the other direction to Neuruppin. Neuruppin is a nice city.
This train runs 1x per hour.
We have very friendly neighbours, who will always be okay in case of any questions or issues.
Beetz is great for nature lovers. It is 5 min. walk to our lake. You can walk around it (4,5 km). Also 5 min walk is it to get to a big forest - great for longer walks.

We are about 1h away from Berlin.
Oranienburg with its castle as well as Neuruppin with is historic old city centre are both half an hour (by car) away, Neuruppin can also be reached by train in 15 min. Oranienburg can be reached by bus.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr gut. Vor Antritt des Dogsittings bekam ich alle wichtigen Informationen rund um Haus und Hund. Alle Vorkehrungen waren wohl bedacht. Kathrin ist eine sehr weltoffene, gebildete Person und es war von Anfang an ein gut abgestimmtes kommunizieren, auch während der Abwesenheit war sie bei Bedarf stets zuverlässig und hat innerhalb eines kurzen Zeitrumes geantwortet. Diese Familie kann man nur empfehlen. Immer wieder gern.
