Our three cats are easy to look after. They roam free outside when the weather is good, but love to cuddle up with us inside if it's wet and cold. They are all healthy and have no medical issues . They just need to be fed. And of course, be loved!

We have to arrive in Australia before 12 March so we want to leave around the 9th. It would be good to have a day's overlap so we can "hand over". We are planning on about 1 month away, but the return has no specific hard date at the moment.

The house is in a beautiful part of the Perigord Vert, on the Pilgrim Route to Santigo de Compostella and within the Perigord/Limousin National Park. The house has 2 bedrooms, with a large garden and a lake. The garden is mostly grass with a few flower borders etc. Within the region there are many lovely walks for people of all ages/fitness. We love to ride our bikes around the local back roads - with hardly any traffic to bother us. There are local markets to visit, 2 largish cities within 1hr drive for those who want to see a bit of culture, lots of chateaux, parks, grottes etc - the list is endless. For music lovers there are CDs and music playing equipment as well as a piano to play if someone is capable. The kitchen was newly refitted this year and all appliances are either new, or in good condition. There are 2 bathroom/shower rooms - one en-suite to the master bedroom, and includes a toilet. The other bathroom and toilet are separate. The house is on the edge of a small village which is known for its support of BIO farming. There is a local shop which sells the locally produced BIO …

Tourisme et loisirs

The region has many tourist sites however some are closed out of the summer season. This is really an area for making your own entertainment by enjoying the lovely walks and rides around the area. We have good walking maps of most of the locality. There are rerstaurants and coffee places to go to too.

There is a Cinema in Thiviers - a 25 mlinute drive south. More entertainment prospects are available in either Limoges or Perigueux, both of which are about 1 hours drive away, or possibly reached by train from La Coquille

When one of us fell ill just before the sit, the hosts immediately sought a solution and were incredibly helpful. So even though we stayed a week shorter than planned, we had a good time during the sit. The house is spacious and peacefully located in a green, tranquil area, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cats were a lovely addition, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. We were also able to work well in the house, as there was plenty of space and a quiet environment. Communication with the hosts was excellent, although we unfortunately didn’t meet in person. They were always reachable and ready to assist whenever needed, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, we recommend house sitting for Geoff and Wendy, for anyone looking for a peaceful spot with three friendly cats.
