I have two dogs, and they spend many hours on the farm as well. When I travel I mostly take them with me. Then there are the 11 donkeys. They are lovely animals, sometimes, stubborn of course, and all different characters. Some donkeys need special food (because they are elderly). It's important to keep the place tidy.
There is a back office available for questions and any problems you could encounter. You're not completely left alone, but the more independent you are the better.
Take your time to enjoy Maastricht, it's University and the students! ,Maybe you can enroll a part time study!

I am looking for house sitters for the whole summer, but it is possible to stay a shorter time. Minimum period is one month, so you can take care of the donkeys independently.

Update July 2026 : house sitter needed from August 1 until further The cabin is a sort of tiny house (45m2) and consists of a studio/living room with a dining space, a small kitchen and a small bathroom. Basic, but very lovely. It is completely off grid!! We cook on a gas stove, lite a fire place when it gets cold and lights are working with a solar panel. There is no fridge (we cook very economic, to not waste anything). There is no wifi, sorry, but you can use mifi (mobile wifi). A large terrace is in front of the house. Part of it can be used to create your own vegetable garden. The place is only 15 minutes bike ride to the vivid city of Maastricht. All on 1 hectare of land. 11 donkeys keep you company (and you them). This is the perfect place for somebody who loves animals and nature. But also pleople who like to enjoy city life are not far from the excitement. The South of Limburg is densed with nice restaurants, cosy bars, but also the forest is at walking distance. Tourisme et loisirs

Maastricht is between Liege and Aachen, and is the middle of three countries. Dutch, french, english and german are widely spoken. Maastricht is very international. It has a beautiful cosy city center with an important museum (Bonnefanten, 15 min per bike), University (15 min per bike), and an internationally renowed market on the Marketplace every Wednesday and Friday . On Friday fresh fish!
