We prefer applications for potential sitters who reside in Switzerland or bordering countries. In addition, we place candidates with references before new sitters without any references.
It is possible, that the House-Sitters arrive one day earlier before we leave, so we can give instructions, get to know one another and introduce them to the flat. Whenever possible the introduction can take place early on the day of our departure.

Logement

We are a family of 4 (incl. the cat). In September 2020 we moved into our new apt. It is easy to handle and offers an amazing view to the Alpstein/ Säntis, surrounded with pure country side (meadows and forests). Our apt. is 1 km from a small village. Within 10 minutes walking distance you will find a bakery store. There is plenty of walking/hiking routes. It is a very quiet place. Nevertheless, a 17 min. train ride brings you to one of the key cities in Switzerland.

We have modern apt. Only doors and no windows, spacious balcony south side, sitting area west side and north side, swivel large flat screen TV, game console, fully equiped home office, Bora kitchen stove, combi steamer, outside lounge, gas grill (Napleon), a bike and a lot of books (mostly german, some in spanish or english). It is a good time to relax and enjoy the landescape.

Tourisme et loisirs

Many mountains and hills. Perfect for hiking and walking. Very nice village called Appenzell. And the monastery in St. Gallen is on the UNESCO list. Lake of constance (second biggest in Switzerland) within 25 min. reachable. German and austrian borders near by. Zurich reachable within 1 hr.

Unser erstes Home-Sitting war wunderbar: Besser konnte unser Einstieg nicht sein!! Sympathischer Kontakt via Video zuvor. Freundlicher Empfang bei dieser lieben Familie. Alle Informationen vorbereitet. Fühlten uns von Beginn an "wie zuhause". Tolle Wohnung. Katze Susi war schnell unsere Prinzessin. Und es gibt viele Möglichkeiten für Unternehmungen. Communication with Roger was perfect and they both, Roger and Marisa welcomed us like friends, we felt very easy from the first moment. Our stay was well prepared and they explained in detail everything about Susi and the appartment, no question remained unanswered. Susi is a lovely and independent cat and we like her very much. She got used to us pretty quickly and was as comfortable as we were. Thank you Roger and Marisa for letting us stay in your nice home, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day.

From the first moment, Roger and Marisa made this whole experience and our stay in their home so comfortable and easy for us. They thought of everything, left us detailed information about nearly everything and were just so open-hearted and welcoming before and during our time in Switzerland. On site, we had amazing three weeks with Susi who is a lovely, independent, but also snuggle-loving cat. She is just so easy-going and got comfortable around us really quickly! We had a lot of fun staying, playing and chilling with her at home and generally enjoyed the place with its open and light living room and a balcony with a great view of the Alpstein mountains. We had a great time exploring the mountains, hiking, swimming, visiting the towns around and Lake Constance. We are so thankful for Roger and Marisa to have let us into their beautiful home and being such incredible hosts. Whenever we had a question or weren't able to find something in the apartment or just needed some tips what to do the next day - they were always reachable to us! All in all, a wonderful experience!
