Our dog is a mix of border collie and who knows what else. She is adorable, very friendly, and needs one walk per day, min 45min. The rest of the day she goes in and out to the garden. Coco can be left alone (in the house, not the garden) for a max. of 5h.

We also have 7 chickens and 3 rabbits. You would have to let them out in the morning (open the door around 7:30-8am) and close their door when it gets dark.

Not much to do in the garden in October...

Logement

The house is an old "maison de vigneron" close to the vineyards and forest. It was built in 1881 and restored in 2007.
There is a big garden with fruit trees, a vegetable garden, and a view of the lake and the castle.
The neighborhood is quiet and friendly.

Our house is in the town of Colombier, in the canton of Neuchâtel.
You can walk to the center (pharmacy, bakeries, shops, restaurants, etc) in 5 min and to the lake in 10-15 min. There are two big supermarkets in town (Coop and Migros), both 10 min by foot.
There are a few lovely beaches in the area (Petit Cortaillod, Paradis Plage, Auvernier, Petit Robinson), and very nice walks in the Jura (Gorges de l'Areuse, Creux du Van). Hiking trails in the Alps are endless, the Interlaken area and the Valais being only 1.5h by car or train.
The forest and vineyards are very close, making it easy (and a pleasure!) to go on walks, runs or bike rides.

Tourisme et loisirs

To reach Neuchâtel (7 km away) you can take the train or the tram from Colombier, both 10 min by foot from the house. From the train station in Neuchâtel there are direct trains to Geneva airport, Zürich airport, and also to Basel, Bern, Fribourg, Luzern, etc. The Swiss train network is excellent, as you probably know.

Sonia et Patrick ont été très accueillants et je me suis sentie très à l'aise en leur compagnie. Coco est une chienne adorable et très facile, nous avons partagé de belles balades dans la nature environnante qui ne manque pas d'attraits. Un magnifique séjour, dans une maison spacieuse où il fait bon vivre. J'ai beaucoup aimé m'occuper également des poules et des lapins. Je remercie chaleureusement Sonia et Patrick et Nomador pour toutes ces belles rencontres.

Staying at Sonia's home was an absolute pleasure. The house is beautiful, the dog is lovable and the chickens are my new best friends. Both Sonia and her family are amazing people, and I'm glad to have met them :).
