Our dog is a 6-year-old dachshund mix. He needs to be walked 30 min in the morning, 30 min in the afternoon, and 5 min in the evening. We provide a short leash as well as a long hip leash which gives him a bit more freedom. We do not take him off the leash unless we are in an enclosed area (i.e. a dog park). He eats kibble 2x a day, 85gr in the morning and 85gr in the evening (food and scales provided of course!). We also have a few plants that need watering 1x a week.

Our flight is early on June 16th, so we would like you to arrive at our place the night before. Our flight back to Berlin is late on June 30th, so we would like you to stay until the morning of July 1st in case our flight is delayed, to ensure our dog doesn't stay alone too many hours.

There is a Lidl supermarket 10 min walk away. The Gesundbrunnen shopping center is only a 15-min walk away and has a big Rewe supermarket. The Böse Brücke is only 8 min walk, it is a bridge that became famous on November 9, 1989 (the day the Berlin Wall fell), as it was the first border in East Berlin to be opened to GDR citizens. You will also be a 5-min walk away from the Kirschenblütenweg and Bornholm Kleingartens, a beautiful green space perfect for walking the dog and enjoying nature. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, including Delikerei (sublime cakes!), El Pepe Tapas Bar, Shalimar (Indian), Zollhaus Pankow (Italian). There is a Shell petrol station 2 min drive away, and two hospitals 10 min drive away (the Jüdisches Krankenhaus and the Virchow-Klinikum). From the Bornholmer Strasse train station or the Gesundbrunnen train station, you can be in the city center in 10 min. You will also be 18 min walk from the charming Humboldthain park, which has a magnificent view over the city from the top of its hill. Just before we were going to house-sit at Nathan's place, they actually got the message of having to relocate and already had found a new forever home for their dog before we arrived. Nevertheless, they were so kind and kept our arranged house-sit as planned, so we only had to care for their plants and make sure that for the different house-visits that the real estate agent had planned to get the apartment sold the apartment was looking spotless. It was one of our easiest houes-sits for sure and Nathan and his wife are really lovely people.

Nathan and Monica were very welcoming, and the apartment was very beautiful, clean and easy to look after. Would love to return for another house sit, and would recommend it to anyone else. Very god location , easy to get to the city, big shopping mall near by . But the best part was Whiskey , just adorable, cut , easy to take care about, accept me from first moment. Really nice experience.

This was one of the very best pet sitting gigs my husband and I have ever experienced! Whiskey is probably the cutest doggo we have EVER met and it was sooooooo difficult to say goodbye to him at the end of the house sit. He is well trained and just an absolutely delightful companion. Nathan and Monica are charming and were always quick to keep us in the loop regarding anything and everything flat- or Whiskey-related. You will be very cozy in this well appointed flat (even--or especially--in the dark and cold winter months in Berlin). There is a tram and a light rail line just a few minutes by foot from the flat and in the other direction you have a nice little wooded path and a Kleingartenanlage where you can go for walks with Whiskey. In sum, a fabulous experience and we can't say enough to recommend spending a spell with Whiskey in this cosy home. We'd return in a heartbeat, should the stars align again!
