I expect the house sitters to look after the villetta and keep it in good order, water and weed the gardens, maintain the outside of the property (keep the area tidy and rubbish free, no painting or building maintenance required).

Please only serious applications and members with prior experience preferred.

My home is a villa situated on a rise giving panoramic views over the local olive groves. Situated in 2 hectares of land I have renovated a Trullo, built an infinity style swimming pool, and demolished some old buildings to create a Villetta. Both the Villetta and Trullo are Poolside and form my small rental business. For the first time I am considering letting out the Villetta for the period of mid November to March. This may suit an elderly couple wishing to avoid a severe winter.

The way my properties are setup all services, (water; hot and cold and electricity) are provided by the main villa as such, I will require a small charge to cover these costs. I am currently thinking £100 per week plus £50 per month electricity contribution. The only other expense would be that the persons renting would be required to purchase their own wood pellets for the pellet burner, which provides internal heat. Electric blankets are supplied.

As I mentioned this is the first time I have considered this and the benefit for me is that the Villetta is kept warm and maintained.

The TV does not have an aerial so terrestrial channels are not possible. The wifi is free and unlimited so streaming to the TV should not be an issue. There is a vast array of dvd's to choose from and a significant book library, some of which are in the villetta and some in our villa. The sound system is panasonic and will play Aug, Bluetooth, cd, ipod, DAB.

The swimming pool is jnlikely to feature in this letting period due to the temperature, however it is large and has a single depth of 1.6 metres a very easy swimming depth.

The barbecue and dining area at the side of the swimming pool; the poolside gym will be packed away for the winter period to avoid rusting.

Though the Villetta is geared for summer letting, the kitchen is well equipped. The washing machine is located in the laundry at the end of the villa and access is available at all times.

Life here is tranquil and relaxed, but there is always something to do, perhaps as owners we see it more than most, but being a tranquil way if life there's no immediate pressure to complete all tasks immediately and everyday.

The Villetta, has an open plan area containing livingroom, dining room and kitchen, 2 large double bedrooms and a very large family bathroom.

We are situated between Brindisi and Bari airports and Ostuni has a rail station. A car is essential.

Relax, the southern Italian way of life is slow and unhurried. Allow yourself to enjoy the people, the caffe culture and the beauty of the area. Restaurants source and cook their food freshly, we can make recommendations. A night out need not cost a fortune.
