Greetings from Reykjavík - I moved here from Toronto in 1999.
Not suitable for more than one person.
First, this is an unusual house sit as I have two tenants who might be present. One is a 23-year old Canadian chef at a Michelin-star restaurant, the other is 25, Spanish and works at a warehouse. Both are very fine young men, totally quiet, clean and respectful. They rent my two bedrooms and I use the living room as my private bed/sitting room. This room will be for the use of the sitter only and can be locked from the inside.
I own this ground floor apartment in downtown Reykjavik. Two other apartments are in the house, owned by pleasant, quiet people.
My reason for wanting house sitters is because of my lovely cat, Máni (Moon). He is 12 and has access to my room and the garden with cat flaps. I like having other people here in case the tenants decide to travel and of course for company for Máni while they are at work.
An advantage of the tenants being here - unless they both are abroad - is that the house sitter is free to travel outside Reykjavik.

Three-story house, built in 1929. I own the ground floor, garden apartment. This is an embassy neighbourhood. The Chinese ambassador will move into the house beside us and the Spanish ambassador into the house behind the garden. All amenities within walking distance.

Day tours are available from Reykjavík to famous attractions. The charming northern town Akureyri is a 6 hour bus ride or half hour flight away.

Kristófer's place is very comfortable and perfectly located in the center of Reykjaví. Kristófer is very helpful and offered plenty of recommendations on what to do. Máni is a really sweet cat and very easy to look after. I highly recommend!
