We have 2 dogs. Reuben is the brown/white corgi and Bea is the black street dog from Manila. They are senior pups, 12 and 9 years old respectively. They are both low energy and very sweet. Bea loves cuddles, Reuben prefers his independence but likes to be nearby. :) He also loves his butt rubs.
Reuben does bark at other dogs and he hates the electric standing scooters, so you’ll wanna make sure you’re aware of these things during walks. Because of their age, they tend to only be able to do shorter walks in the park, but love playing at the beach.
Bea takes a daily allergy pill in the mornings, along with her breakfast.

My flight leaving Lisbon is on Oct 1 and I plan to return around Nov 28 (flexible). I think it might make sense for you to try to arrive in Lisbon a few days or a week in advance to settle in and get to know the dogs, apt, neighborhood. I can stay somewhere nearby to help ease you in.

My apartment is smack dab in the middle of Lisbon! It’s a spacious 2 BR, 1 bathroom apartment with big windows and a view of the park. It’s on the backside of the building, so super quiet as it gets no road noise. It’s in a building that was built in the 80s so what it lacks for in the curb appeal of the older Portuguese homes, it makes up for with an elevator, heating/AC, dishwasher, washing machine and fiber Internet. I have an excellent WFH setup w/ monitors and a standing desk.

We are located in the middle of the city, a block from Marques de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade. I picked this apartment/location for its proximity to the big park, my office (back when that was a thing haha) and the big sidewalks for my dogs.
You have everything you’d need in the neighborhood: supermarket, cafes, bars, restaurants, etc and really great transportation options.
Our first apartment was in Cais do Sodre which though cool, was way too busy with tourists and a hard place to actually live. It wasn’t until the pandemic lockdowns when I really appreciated our location, for the space and big park. The good news: all the tourist neighborhoods are a short walk away!

Lisbon is a great little city with lots to discover. There are some amazing beaches about 15 min away by train headed toward Cascais. Sintra is a wonderful place to hike and explore, also accessible by train.
