We are a semi-retired couple and have a boat that we want to be able to sail for weeks at a time. However, our two lovely German Shepherd dogs don't like being on the boat. So we are seeking individuals or couples who would love to stay in our delightful victorian cottage in the wonderful holiday destination in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, in return for looking after the dogs, Luna, 11 and her daughter, Skye, 8. The Island is a beautiful spot to holiday with a wealth of sites to see, walking, water sports or relaxing days on the beach. Several pretty coastal towns give an ideal opportunity to wander around the shops and stop for coffee or lunch with breathtaking views over the sea or in a quaint village with an abundance of thatched cottages. Our dogs are great companions and love to sit quietly under the table in pubs or restaurants! Dogs are welcome everywhere on the Island. Of course they love to run on the beach or yomp around the woods too. We need people who love dogs and will be kind and patient with Luna and Skye, a couple would be ideal as they are big dogs and need experienced dog handlers. They are very well behaved and have great re call but need to be controlled around sheep and cats! Out of courtesy we always put them on the lead when passing other dogs. We have a sweet terraced garden which is very private. I love gardening and it would need watering in the summer. We would be very happy to look after gardens and pets.

Very positive first house sitting experience. Ginny and Simon are very friendly and welcoming, the house is tidy, the dogs are well behaved and pleasure to be around.

Very relaxing stay, looking after Skye and Luna, while Ginny and Simon were away. Lovely dogs, good location and sunny weather! A warm welcome from Ginny and Simon, with lots of local references, made for an excellent house and pet sit.

Ginny and Simon are very warm and welcoming hosts and their two German Shepherds, Luna and Skye, are two of the friendliest dogs we have ever met. They are extremely well mannered, and obedient and a pleasure to walk. We loved taking them to the beach, the local park and the center of Cowes (8 minutes by foot) where many people would stop to admire them. Ginny and Simon let us use their car so we were able to take the dogs to a remote beach and also see some of the island. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to going back one day!
