Hello, I'm David (though many friends know me as Venus).

I've always been drawn to a slower, more conscious way of living—one that values presence, kindness, curiosity and genuine connection. House sitting feels like a natural expression of that. It allows me to care for a home with respect while sharing my days with the animals who give it its heart.

I grew up surrounded by cats and dogs, and they've always reminded me that every living being has their own personality, boundaries, routines and quiet ways of communicating. I never expect an animal to like me straight away, and I never force a connection. I simply meet them where they are, earn their trust with patience, and let the relationship grow naturally. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a pet feel safe, relaxed and completely themselves around me.

After recently finishing my Chinese studies in Shanghai, I'm continuing a lifestyle that feels deeply aligned with who I am—living intentionally, staying present, and experiencing places by becoming part of their everyday rhythm rather than simply passing through. When I'm not out for a walk, you'll usually find me working on creative projects, exploring new ideas or enjoying a quiet evening at home.

I know that opening your home to someone is an act of trust. My hope is that, while you're away, you can truly relax, knowing your pets are understood, your home is cared for, and everything is exactly as it should be.
