It's hard to express our gratitude to Dorothy for the amazing job she did looking after our five cats during our honeymoon. Before arrival she communicated frequently about her itinerary and we felt very comfortable welcoming her to our home. She arrived two days before our scheduled departure days and it was clear from the beginning that she is a remarkable woman - warm, kind, and really committed to making sure the little ones are safe and comfortable while the owners are away. She took plenty of time to ask questions about the habits and needs of the 5 kitties (including one who needs to take medication daily), and they took to her immediately. We left feeling completely confident that they were in good hands, as indeed they were. Beyond that, having Dorothy stay with us was like welcoming a much loved relative that we hadn't seen in years - a magic aunt that is curious about the world, and a great conversationalist with a lovely sense of humor. We'd love for her to come back as a guest -catsitting or not!

This was our first time leaving our pets and home to a house sitter, and from our first contact, Dorothy made us feel comfortable. Her long time experience as a sitter helped her to walk us through the procedure and prove to us that this was the best solution for us. Dorothy came to stay with us ahead of our departure to get to know our dog and the house and immediately blended into our family. We found her to be easy-going and helpful, and seeing our dog take to her right away left us feeling confident that she would be well looked after. During our stay, Dorothy regularly kept in contact with us through Whatsapp, giving us pleasant updates on her stay, our dog and our house. There was an unfortunate incidence with our gate while we were gone, but Dorothy was calm and resourceful, and was able to find a solution and take decisions which reflected our own thinking, despite being in a foreign country. Dorothy was kind enough to accept a young friend of ours to stay with her during our vacation. Charlène also found her to be helpful and patient. When we arrived home, we found our place well looked after and our garden thriving despite the heat wave that took place in our absence. And of course, our little Poppet was waiting for us too. We found our dog transformed into a better version of herself thanks to Dorothy's devotion and perserverance. Poppet is much calmer and better behaved than she has ever been. We would highly recommend Dorothy as a house and dog sitter. She has a sincere love for animals and immeasurable patience. She is more than reliable and trustworthy, and considers housesitting as a job. We left in total confidence and were able to enjoy our holiday knowing that she was in charge. Dorothy's kindness and genuine desire to know the family she's caring for are an asset. Her brief stay with us when we returned was like a visit from a long time friend. We were very lucky to have Dorothy as our first sitter to help us take the 'leap of faith' of having a stranger stay in our home, but we consider ourselves even luckier to be able to count her as a friend.
