Since joining the housesitting community on various platforms in 2016, we have been absolutely thrilled and fortunate enough to complete almost 70 fantastic housesits worldwide with unique and wonderful pets, all of which have received excellent 5-star reviews from our hosts.
We are Heike and Stefan, an early retired couple (electrical engineer and solicitor assistant) from southwest Germany. Both in the early sixties, married with two grown up children. This gives us the great opportunity and freedom to travel with a flexible schedule to our worldwide house and pet sits.
In the past we looked after pets and homes of friends and neighbours, including their dogs and cats. Our children had a small zoo with an African Grey parrot, two budgies, a guinea pig, and fish.
We are both healthy, love animals and gardening, are reliable, honest, calm, well-organized, tidy, friendly and non-smokers.
We enjoy hiking, swimming, gardening, playing board games, reading, cooking and visiting local markets, museums and small concerts. Heike is also a passionate sourdough bread baker and she has worked furthermore in a community vegetable garden a couple of years while Stefan is an enthusiastic homebrewer who brews craft beer with his self-built stainless steel brewing system.
Housesitting is a wonderful way for us to feel at home while exploring the world, to live like locals in new places and to improve our language skills (we speak English, a little French and Italian).
Caring for your pets, as well as maintaining your home and garden, is an important part of our work. They are precious and will be treated with love and care, so you don't have to worry while you are away.
As homeowners ourselves (we renovated our house step by step in the past), we have practical experience with all kinds of home repairs and garden work. Therefore, we also understand the specific characteristics of older properties.
Both of us have a clean German and international driving license and we are experienced drivers of both sides of the road.

Heike et Stefan sont arrivés la veille de notre départ en vacances. Nous avons pu faire connaissance avec une très bon échange en anglais, ce qui a permis de mieux nous connaitre. Nous leur avons montré nos animaux et la maison. Nous sommes partis en toute confiance pour la gestion de la maison pendant notre absence. Ils se sont très bien occupés de nos poules et de notre chatte Plume, avec une attention particulière pour ses 5 chattons. Heike et Stefan nous ont donnés régulièrement des nouvelles par messages, en photos et en vidéos tout au long du séjour, ce qui nous a permis de suivre le développement des petits chats et leurs nouveaux jeux ! A notre retour nous avons eu le plaisir de retrouver notre maison très bien tenue. Un grand merci à Heike et Stefan que nous recommandons pour leurs prochains séjours en France pour qu'ils puissent continuer à découvrir notre langue et nos territoires. Philippe

Heike et Stefan sont véritablement parfaits ! Avant tout, dès le premier contact, vous ressentez avec eux un sentiment de confiance et un rapport très amical s’établit directement. Et au final on se dit quel bonheur d’avoir eu chez nous de tels home sitters Nous avons retrouvé notre maison impeccable, notre chienne a été véritablement chouchoutée, promenée chaque jour, le jardin entretenu tout comme le potager. Avec nos tomates ils nous ont fait et laissé pour notre retour un délicieux coulis. Ils sont parfaitement autonomes... C’est bien simple, ils méritent largement tous les badges proposés pour l’évaluation, ce sont des perles rares, rares d’efficacité, d’intelligence et de simplicité. Heike et Stefan, vous êtes un couple formidable, un couple désormais d’amis ! Un immense merci pour la tranquillité morale que nous avons eu pendant les vacances grâce à vous ! Nous espérons bien vous revoir.

Heike and Stefan were exceptional house sitters. Over a dinner we had a wonderful first contact, we could see immediately that we could trust them ! Heike and Stefan are very nice people, open to others, curious, willing to discover the country and fast to adapt. We had regular contact during the house sitting, nice pictures from our cats and the countryside. They did an awesome job in the house, we have never seen it in such a state ! They had a great contact with our pets who surely miss them now. Heike and Stefan are very reliable and if ever they'd like to come back here, they'd be much welcome !!!
