We are a Scottish/English couple who now live in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. We're mostly retired (Alan is a retired academic, Tim, an IT specialist) , but we remain busy with singing in a choir, Scottish country dancing, walking and gardening. We care about the environment and try to live here as sustainably as possible.
We bought the house eight years ago and set about restoring it, blending traditional elements with the modern . We were especially happy to find a house with an apartment attached so that family and friends could come to stay.
In 2017 we decided to make this our permanent home, which then meant we could think about welcoming some pets into our midst as well. We adopted Isi and Ferdi from a cat refuge here in Lanzarote in 2019 and started keeping chickens shortly after that.

Tim and Alan are the best kind of hosts you can wish for: everything was explained in detail, they made sure we were settled well and would encounter no issues, and above all, they are very kind and good company. We felt absolutely confident when they left and their preparation made it very easy for us to take care of everything without ever experiencing any confusion. Their cats are absolutely adorable and love company as well, which made it even easier to take care of them! The house is located in such a nice location, where it's peaceful and tranquil throughout the day and night. They've turned their home and land into a very nice place that's a pleasure to take care of. Given our experience with Tim and Alan, and the responsibilities that were entrusted to us, we would most definitely repeat the experience. We´ve gained a friendship along with our experience and are looking forward to see what the future holds in store!
