Hello,

Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Jurgen, a 49-year-old animal lover born and raised in the Flemish city of Ghent (Belgium), who also works as a freelance translator (you can find more info on my background here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jurgen-vincke/ or https://www.proz.com/profile/3345205).

I would consider myself more of an introvert who likes to travel and loves animals and reading. I’m especially fond of traditional folk music and I used to be heavily involved in the folk dancing and tango community of my native Ghent. I’m a non-smoker, don’t have a driving licence nor a car, but I do know how to drive. That said, I don’t mind walking, biking or using public transport to do my shopping.

My experience as a petsitter is very diverse and ranges from catsitting in a Paris flat to taking care of 2 dogs, 10 cats, 16 goats and 50+ chickens/cockerels in the French countryside. Although I’m not a professional gardener and handyman, I have sufficient experience with indoor and garden maintenance to handle most common technical emergencies (electricity, plumbing). Initially, I found most of my housesits through Facebook and the Couchsurfing website, but nowadays I mainly work through word of mouth or websites such as Nomador or RingTwice.
