I am a very well travelled, semi retired, English language university lecturer, now seeking to continue travelling and writing when I can. To do that I need to concentrate mainly at a home base, and the company of pets in amazing locations is a wonderful bonus. It will also mean that while I am at home most of the time, knowing me, I’ll be seeking to distract myself by paying lots of extra attention to the pets in my care and maintaining a super spotless home!!

I own an apartment in West Australia, in a lovely suburb close to the beach and Swan River in Perth. Some background history regarding my housesitting: although I had done some housesitting previously from time to time mainly in Perth, I really fully utilised housesitting in 2015 while studying to finish a Master's degree at the Australian National University in Canberra and I've continued off and on from there utilising mainly 3 housesitting websites, Trusted Housesitters, Aussie Housesitters, Mindahome agency website, Madpaws in Perth and now in London through an Agency, Pawsgalore.

After completing my degree, I went overseas and had a wonderful time housesitting in Spain and the UK, where I taught at Cambridge University over the summer. I returned to Australia and then went to Nauru Island in the South Pacific to teach refugees until Dec, 2016.

Until the end of Oct 2018, I was teaching on a casual basis in Canberra at ANU College and teaching refugees and new migrants with Navitas and housesitting, so I could go on writing while managing on the minimal pay.

I returned to my home base of Perth at the end of 2018, housesitting at one home with Tiger the cat for a year, and then other sits, with periods in my then own two homes due to various Covid restrictions. Finally, I was able to sell one place and clear my mortgage towards the end of 2021 which helped a great deal considering the Covid situation.

I’ve been back in the northern hemisphere since May 22 and between share caring for my Mother with my two sisters, I have been doing some paid housesitting in London for PawsGalore, privately and with Trustedhousesitters.com in London, elsewhere in the UK countryside including the Isle of Man, Scotland and Ireland, and abroad including France X 3, Spain X 4, Morocco X 1, Turkey x 2 and Crete X 1.

Altogether, I’ve become quite addicted to housesitting one way or another. I still love the more authentic, local experience that housesitting provides in interesting locations and most importantly, being able to have the company of lots of lovely and loving pets. Plus, I always hope housesits in amazing locations will help feed into my inspiration to write.

I have looked after a wide variety of animals over the years, of course, dogs and cats, but also horses, rabbits, exotic birds, a giant pig, chickens, turtles, llamas, peacocks and even a frill necked lizard!

I have also hosted for an Airbnb (in Morocco) and done some gardening for a little extra cash in France and the UK. I’ve maintained pools, mowed lawns and kept numerous veggie patches and poly tunnels flourishing.

I am very happy to provide various proofs of ID, up-to-date police clearance checks and any other information you might need, rather than send various proofs to this website, at least until I’ve become more accustomed to it. (I am fully verified through all my customary Websites however.)
